The food here is always unbelievably flavorful and fresh! Portions are adequate for price point and service is quick. Love dining here with friends, especially for the lunch specials. The deals are unbeatable!
We were there early for happy hour, they had a good selection of items at a lower price point.
We ordered about 7 different items to try and two out of seven were great. The rest were disappointing. I would not recommend it or dine here again. Our server was wonderful though.
Best kept secret in Austin! Except it's not really a secret and I'd feel terrible keeping this to myself! We always have such a wonderful time. The service, quality, price, and ambience/vibes are all impeccable. Great spot if you're looking for some small extremely tasty bites. But also a great spot if you're looking to get a great deal on Uchi-level cuisine (especially the lunch menu). Every time I visit I add 3-5 more things to my list in my head of what I have to try next time (but I'm too full for my current visit). It's my favorite spot in town. Everyone is incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and makes you feel like they really care about your dining experience. Definitely recommend!
The food, the service, the drinks, All excellent! Nayeli (I believe was our server) she was a delight, Great recommendations, great attention, 10/10
Very disappointed in overall experience. Food was good, but worst experience with any of the Uchi restaurant visits we've had in the past. Several factors.. 1.we received the wrong drinks and were told ours were coming (cut to 20+ minutes later). 2. Received first 3 dishes before correct drinks came out, but the worst part was that we didn't have silverware/chopsticks or napkins to eat with and neither server nor food runners noticed to the point we went to hostess stand to request it. Not the service/experience expected when choosing to spend the money that we did
I came here for the first time for a lunch date with my fiance and we already want to go back! We got the lunch special and it came with nice sized portions that filled us up good. I got the uchi margarita and that was delicious too. Everyone that worked there that we interacted with was very knowledgeable and friendly, two things that made the experience all the more enjoyable!
Brussels sprouts (light kick), hama chili (light kick), and the gyutoro are must-haves that I get every time! The service is fantastic, and given a bit of direction for your palate preferences, the waitstaff will do an excellent job bringing out dishes that you will undoubtedly enjoy. The atmosphere is lively but not too loud, and the décor is chic, making for a fantastic date night spot. Easily one of my favorite restaurants in Austin!
I thought the food was okay, nothing like Uchi or Uchiko. The kitchen was disorganized in bringing the food. The best thing was the ambience. I wouldn't go back.
We did the nine course happy hour and it was delicious, filling and not too expensive! We will be back!

I had a good experience at Uchiba overall and enjoyed the food, though I wasn’t completely blown away. They do offer some solid vegan options, but the experience had a few drawbacks.
I was seated at the sushi bar, which I didn’t mind, but as a vegan it’s not exactly impressive to stare at a wall of refrigerated raw fish. It was also pretty loud, and sometimes hard to hear my server who was working behind the counter.
I started with a drink: the old fashioned with Japanese whiskey was light, delicate, and excellent. For food, the yucca chips appetizer was very good, and the eggplant bao was awesome (though not fully vegan). The menu created some confusion: the online menu clearly lists vegetarian/vegan options, the paper menu does not, and some dishes marked “vegan option available” apparently couldn’t be made vegan. That led to a slightly awkward ordering process.
From the sushi bar recommendations, I tried the watermelon nigiri, mushroom nigiri, and tofu avocado maki. Everything was good, but the mushroom nigiri was outstanding, possibly the best vegan sushi I’ve ever had. The tofu avocado maki, on the other hand, was a bit odd, with brown avocado that took away from the experience.
For dessert, I went with the strawberry sorbet. It leaned more toward shaved ice than sorbet, but it was creative and refreshing. Unfortunately, it took about 25 minutes to arrive.
Overall, a mixed but enjoyable visit. I’d definitely come back to explore more of the menu, but when it comes to vegan sushi specifically, I’d probably lean toward other spots in town.
