I had lunch here during SXSW. You order at the counter and then choose a table on the patio or inside the restaurant.I would not recommend this place to vegetarians or vegan because the beans contain pork. I tried to order the cactus tacos without the cheese sprinkled on top and was told that during SXSW they only offer ‘all toppings’ or ‘no toppings’, they are not able to accommodate any other modifications because it’s so busy. I understand this in general, and maybe they are busier at dinner, but they were not busy at the time we were there and only half the tables were full. So that was strange. My husband says the men’s bathroom was (surprisingly) clean!

We actually performed live at this restaurant off 6th St. In Austin, our Band is ( The Unselected ) after performing we had dinner all I can truly say is cool little spot and the Quesadilla Beef was so delicious I had to come back with some friends to eat there again and my friends loved it also. Home made tortillas were the best I have tasted in a long long time..... I will definitely be going back ...

I ordered three tacos for delivery, they were all prepared incorrectly. I also ordered and paid for a drink that was not delivered. I called multiple times but nobody answers and their answering machine is not set up.

My personal favorite spot to warm up before a show in the area. Corn tortillas are legit and made fresh, as they should be! I've eaten almost everything on the lunch and dinner menu and it is all fantastic. If you are unsure, order the al pastor.

I recently visited Vaquero Taquero in downtown Austin, Texas, and it was an absolute delight! The ambiance was vibrant, and the menu offered a variety of tempting options. What truly stood out were the incredible tacos – I tried several, but the breakfast taco stole the show! The flavors were fresh, and the ingredients were top-notch, making it a must-try.Moreover, I must commend the outstanding service. The staff was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant dining experience. The atmosphere was welcoming, making it a great spot to enjoy delicious tacos while soaking in the local vibe.If you're a taco enthusiast or just looking for a fantastic dining experience in Austin, Vaquero Taquero is the place to be. I'll definitely be returning for more of those delicious breakfast tacos and the warm hospitality!

The best pastor in down town and full stop!!

Tacos were reheated, cold on the inside. The restaurant is concrete and steel, and very loud. Parking sucks at this location so don't be surprised if there isn't any. Also, taco prices are ridiculous.

Food was good. Super casual service. Wasn’t very clean, dirty booth, messy menus, the block it’s on was a little blooped out with homeless addicts but there was a lot of cops too made for decent people watching.

First time here - My best friend and I came for the Tacos of Texas event. The tacos were delicious. I loved the chicken tacos - the flavor was great, and I loved the pickled onions on top. I also had one of the beef tacos. It was also very good, but I preferred the chicken. I'd definitely eat here again. I'd loved to try their breakfast tacos sometime.

I think my expectations were a little high for this place. I got two fish tacos and while they were piled high with generous portion of the ingredients, I thought they tasted kind of meh. I ended up adding some chipotle in adobo sauce that came on the side, but even that didn't remedy things entirely. So not bad, but not world shaking, especially given the price. My husband got the shrimp and a beef taco and loved his, so maybe it's just the fish taco, or maybe it's just me. The tortillas were phenomenal though, I will say. Possibly the most flavorful part of my taco somehow haha. It was jam packed on a Friday midday, so we went the online order route at the window. Straightforward and easy, but they forgot to include one of our tacos, which was annoying because then my husband had to wait almost another 10 mins after waiting over 20 in the first place.

We were looking for authentic tacos and found the spot!! Chris, and all the workers there were so friendly and food came out so quickly! Tortillas and salsas are all made in house. Highly recommend!

Oh yummo - delicious, hearty tacos. You can order at the counter. There's plenty of seating inside and outdoor patio seating. I tried the steak and pastor tacos with griddled cheese in the interior. Just two tacos and a big glass of horchata was plenty for a filling lunch.
