Wonderful selection of books and plenty of cozy places to sit, read and enjoy a drink.
I love this place and Jean the owner does an amazing job!
Stopped in one afternoon while waiting for a table at a nearby restaurant. It was so cute I couldn’t stop thinking about going back (April 13). When I did, I was very disappointed by one the employee’s unhelpful and snotty disposition. It gave such bad vibes, I had to leave.

Great combination of so many things: fabulous wine and coffee bar, great place to chat or study, fun events, and amazing architecture.

Austin is so lucky to have this awesome bookstore and wine bar! We are enjoying it tremendously.I want to comment on a review where a “customer” brought in a crew to hang out without purchasing anything because 1.) it wasn’t busy so they weren’t taking up space and 2.) it is usually busy and the business doesn’t need the money (???)If you are one of the people in a crowd creating a busy period, that can give the impression that a business is busy like that most of the time, but that’s not necessarily the case. If you really want to hang out somewhere for free, the public library is a great option. To show up and buy nothing, then be offended and write a bad review when you get called out?? - so disrespectful. The awesome vibe at Vintage didn’t just happen, people worked hard and invested energy and creativity to make such a wonderful space. And they continue to invest a lot of time and energy to be here. It’s so important to support an establishment that you love with your wallet as well as your presence.Rant over ;D - anyway, this place is amazing and you should definitely check it out and buy some wine and books while you’re here!

C'mon, really? If you're looking for either one or both at the same time, stop playin'. Now if one can just find a bowling alley and shiatsu bar.

Cool space with lots of different seating options & little rooms to enjoy a drink and/or a book. Staff was also super friendly!

A nice little spot in Austin, great selection of books and comfy seating to sit back relax and read a book. They have great mood lighting and a good wine bar.

The atmosphere is the biggest factor about this place: it’s just lovely. The music, the lighting, the historical building, the decor, and the subtle din of people enjoying themselves are all great.Wine selections have been good, and the serving size is appropriate. Not cheap but acceptable for what it is and where it is.I can’t speak to the food, but I know they have some light offerings of the charcuterie type.

We found this little place by accident after leaving the Green and White Grocery. Very relaxing little wine place that also has books. Or is it a book place that has wine? Not sure but either way totally worth the stop. Very welcoming and my favorite type of place.. quiet. ?

The fiancé and I stopped in for a quick drink and skimmed some local authors’ books. The staff was nice and it was very LGBTQ+ friendly. The vintage theme of the place made it very unique compared to some of the places I’d been. The service was wonderful and I wish I had a place like this closer to where I am.

Great spot to study, chill, or catch up with friends. Free wifi, comfy couches, tables with chairs inside and outside. The mimosas are also fun. You get 3 juices-cranberry, orange, & grapefruit-with a bottle of champagne for 40$, i think. A better deal than buying one glass for 14$

Undoubtedly one of the most interesting spaces in East Austin, with great decor, great wine selection, and dedication to preserving a historic Austin landmark. The books on sale are interesting and diverse, ranging from traditional fiction/nonfiction to anime/manga. We've visited many times, from casual hangouts to trivia and always had a great time.An off-putting interaction with the owner, however, has left a bad enough taste in my mouth to where I probably won't be back. We had some guests in town, so my partner and I brought them over to hangout around 5p on a Saturday when Vintage was rather quiet/empty. The 4 of us (+ one infant) were sitting around playing card games up front when the owner came by and coldly stated "Hey, you guys have been hanging out for a while here (about 30 minutes). I'm going to ask that you buy something to support the business if you're going to continue to stay." I totally understand wanting us to pay, totally reasonable; but could that not be phrased in a more polite, less cold/staid manner? Not to mention, it's not like we were taking seats from paying customers or using wifi...the place was empty. I'm going to chock this up to how customer service/interactions have been post-pandemic, but after regularly coming to Vintage since it's opening, we'll probably hang back.Vintage doesn't need our business since the place is usually pretty lively and is a cool environment overall, but I wanted to echo some of the other reviews highlighting the "stuck-upness" that seems to emanate from the ownership/employees.
