Came here for a brunch, beautiful atmosphere, the music was all over the place and didn’t match the ambiance, service wasn’t very good at all, she was nice but one of the lower tier services i’ve experienced in austin, especially for a nicer place. food was alright but nothing special, the carnitas taco was very good but the bacon one was not, the server set an alcoholic drink in front of me two different times despite me not ordering any alcohol at all, took an hour before we got to order any food, just not much attention was paid i feel and probably wouldn’t come back! cute place though

Great ambiance and super friendly service, but there must have been an inexperienced bartender working because the drinks were horrible. I ordered a mocktail that tasted like pure jalapeño juice which was completely undrinkable, and my husband ordered a mixed drink that was terrible too. I wish we could have enjoyed our drinks before heading to our dinner date, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. Maybe it was an off night.

The staff are friendly and helpful and offer great suggestions. The food is very good, the plantain gnocchi is unique but delicious. They have a limited but decent beer list.

My recent visit to Wax Myrtle's was nothing short of extraordinary, and it was undoubtedly elevated by the impeccable service provided by Morgan and Erica. From the moment I stepped in, their warm smiles and genuine hospitality set the tone for a delightful evening.Morgan and Erica's knowledge of the menu was impressive. They expertly guided me through the offerings, providing insightful recommendations based on my preferences. Their passion for the cuisine shone through, making the decision-making process a breeze.I started with the Charred Brussels Sprouts, a dish that transformed this humble vegetable into a flavor-packed delight. The caramelized edges and smoky undertones were a testament to the chef's skill, and it set the stage for the culinary journey that followed. For the main course, I opted for the Pan-Seared Sea Bass, a delicate fish that was expertly prepared. The crisp skin gave way to tender, succulent flesh, and the accompanying citrus beurre blanc added a zesty brightness that elevated the dish to new heights.Throughout the meal, Morgan and Erica ensured that I wanted for nothing. Their timing was impeccable, and they were attentive without ever being intrusive. Their genuine enthusiasm for ensuring my dining experience was exceptional was evident in every interaction. To conclude the evening, I savored the Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta. It was a symphony of velvety creaminess and fragrant vanilla, topped with a vibrant berry compote. It was the perfect ending to a perfect meal.In summary, Wax Myrtle's is a culinary gem, and Morgan and Erica are the shining stars that make the experience truly unforgettable. Their professionalism, knowledge, and genuine warmth elevated the dining experience to a level of excellence that is truly rare. I can't wait to return for another memorable meal at this exceptional

Hidden away in the Thompson Hotel, great spot for drinks on the 4th floor patio with a DJ on Sat and Sunday afternoon. Games on the TV inside and great bartenders!

If looking for an upscale bar to watch Sunday football this is the place to be. Beautiful outdoor pool and cabanas to relax in. Morgan and Erica inside at the bar were fantastic. Made us feel welcome and our glasses were never empty. Will be attending more often. Can't wait to come back.

Marina was the best and helped us celebrate our bride to be! She figured out the best way to kick off our bachelorette weekend and had great recommendations for our large party. We can’t wait to come back!

Came in for restaurant week burger special and it didn’t disappoint! Sat at the bar and had amazing service from Erica and Morgan! Super fun to talk with, and make sure to end with their Espresso Snap! Highly recommend going and sitting at the bar. Will definitely be back!

We came for my friends birthday brunch. Trinity took care of the entire 10 top table with grace and was so kind and professional. Trinity really made this first experience at Wax Myrtle memorable and I will be back hopefully in her section!! Thanks Trinity!!

I had high hopes based on photos and events I have seen recently but after our visit was really disappointed...esthetically wax myrtles is gorgeous...i do not normally post bad reviews but this was the worst dining experience i have had in a long time. It smelled of sewage. It was so strong we wanted to leave especially after Our server forgot about us. We flagged down someone else to serve us a cocktail. Grabbed our own plates and silverware... I Wouldn't recommend to locals or others visiting.

Wow! I was in Austin on business with colleagues and we were so happy to have randomly found this gem. Though the portions were on the smaller side, the food was great and we were big fans of the $3 mezcal "Dazey" drinks. We loved our first visit so much that we came back a few days later for another round of food, drinks, and this time we spent the evening cooling down in the beautiful rooftop pool - and had a great time! We made some great memories and our time at the pool was one of the highlights of our trip.

Great ambiance and friendly service. Food and drinks were good. Vegan options were available. The mushroom tinga taco was good albeit a little spicier than my stomach wanted when paired with cocktails.

Vegetarian options: Vegan options are available. The menu changes fairly regularly so check with staff for current options.

We love this place. The atmosphere is contagious and exciting. The food was excellent. So different from any thing I have ever had, I love the Texas/California fusion. Definitely will come back. The drinks were not water down, so full of flavor.

I am a bit disappointed with this place. The atmosphere is great and it would have been a great place to hangout with friends however, the service was not good. The server would disappear for long stretches and was not very friendly when we asked what would they recommend. The food was not bad but it wasn't great either. The drinks we tried were not at all impressive. I had higher expectations from this place.

There's a lot of potential here, but my experience was horrible. I came because it was recommended for the rooftop. Orginally we were sat at a table outside but no server came to us after 15 min., so we tried to order from the bar. Bigger tattooed guy behind the bar told us very rudely we could not order there unless we have a tab. How could we have a tab when nobody even greeted us? Went back to the table and finally had a server come by. She was slow and didn't know about ingredients on menu; had to ask for water refills several times. Guacamole and hot dog were delicious and great portion size. Cocktails were good too, but the service here is terrible. Travelers beware: spend your money elsewhere. There's a plethora of pretty rooftops in Austin.
