Stay away - I have been promised multiple times that a botched repair would get fixed for months but to no avail. Work orders are often closed by the apartment even though nothing gets fixed. The laundry machines have been “offline” for weeks when the actual machines supposedly have no physical problems. They changed their name on Google to Pease Parkside a little back to escape bad reviews but writing this here as well in case people come to this name. Unless you get a stellar deal I’d look elsewhere.

Awesome manager, very knowledgeable of the property which is so helpful in this day and time. The apartments are in a great area, still looking but this one is on the top of my list.

Garrett Phillips

Responsive management and across the street from the Shoal Creek trails.

Great location, fantastic management, feels like home.

Great little apartment with undercover parking & across from a lovely park. Extremely well maintained & managed by a great property manager. You won’t be disappointed!

I can’t recommend living here. This place will nickel and dime you for every thing. The communal washers have been broken since I moved in six months ago. They charge you for internet and tv but the service isn’t great, and cannot be upgraded. When I moved into the place, there were multiple issues with my unit. Additionally, the floors were disgusting.Currently, they are sending out lease renewals for the rest of the entire year (I have 6 months until my lease up) and after already increasing the rent for this “first round of renewals” they have told us it will be increasing again April 15th. I’d imagine it will continue to increase throughout the year; however, nothing outside of the paint on the buildings has changed to justify the increase in rent. The people I’ve worked with here have been kind, I doubt they have much control. But when I’ve asked why renewals are going out this early I got no reply.Lastly, they recently changed their parking to where you can pay for a reserved spot or risk not having a place to park. I’d imagine in the future they will ask residents to pay. I can’t imagine how they already charge so much for rent AND will ask residents to pay for parking. (Paid parking just doesn’t make sense to me generally). I just wouldn’t recommend living here.

I've been living in this complex for 4 years now. It used to be a cheap and good location, but the laundry rooms are full of broken washers and dryers that haven't been fixed for over a year now. After having my car vandalized and all of the washers now broken, I'm reducing to 1 star. I cannot recommend moving here.

Unfortunately this place is terrible, I got paint splattered on my car from when they renovated our apartment. I had the painter look at my car and said he would fix it. No one ever answered their phone now I’m being asked to prove it. Still haven’t had hot water, gas or heat in a month. Terrible management team.

Don’t live here. I’ll write this now, and I’ll write this again when they inevitably rebrand as Pease Parkside. This is the worst living situation I’ve ever experienced, and I’ve lived in many different places.First off, it looks like all of the positive reviews of this place weren’t made by actual residents, but people who were told to write reviews by the property manager. But mainly: This property has been without gas (so no cooking), central heat, and hot water since December 18th. The laundry machines are broken. I put in a request to get my blinds repaired weeks ago, because they’re so cheap they broke the first time I used them. My blinds still don’t work. This apartment complex was featured as part of KXAN’s piece of investigative journalism on Austin tenant’s rights - if you Google “Austin tenants” it’s the first thing that comes up.They didn’t provide us relief until over three weeks in (in the form of space heaters, a gym membership to take showers at, and electric burners). And they still had the nerve to charge us rent while we lived in an apartment complex that wasn’t livable during Stage 5 of COVID. I had COVID and was quarantined without the ability to take a hot shower, cook, or have heat, and the response was a noncommittal “I don’t know if we can provide relief.”As someone else said before, they made great efforts to make cosmetic improvements to the building while their residents lived and continue to live in awful conditions. They gave us something called “rent credits” which were a joke, then offered to put us up in a hotel because they knew Austin was about to freeze, which they framed as a kind gesture rather than the bare minimum effort that it was. And they didn’t even pay the $200 it cost to park at the hotel/had the nerve to revoke my “rent credit” when I chose the option of…being in a hotel and not freezing in my apartment. This is long, I know. But it you read my story and others’ - you’ll know better than to ever choose to live here. Worst place I have ever lived. Hopefully they will have the dignity to refund our rent entirely for the time we went without - in the meantime, I’m figuring out how to terminate my lease free of charge.

Pros: The park by the apartment was really nice and since I moved out I really miss it. The complex is also close to campus and internet is included.Cons: -Communal washers and dryers were always broken. Washers would leave clothes sopping wet so we would have to pay to use the dryer twice for one load. The washers and dryers were also very small.-FBI came to the complex to bust someone in the apartment complex-A month before we moved out the apartment started to reek of death and flies showed up. Maintenance didnt do anything and we basically had to wait for the smell to disappear by itself.

We lived here for 2 and half years now. This place used to be great until it was sold to a property management company this year and the new management is just horrible. Our internet cuts off frequently and we have been living without internet for at least two weeks this month. This is just unbearable and we are moving out for sure.

Be awear that the place was sold this year!

On 8/30/2019, the owner/operators of W. 24th St. Apartments, Leslie and Jeff Brown, reluctantly retired. Our tenure lasted from 7/1/1989, until 8/30/2019. Over the decades of ownership, We have had the privilege of providing quality affordable housing to thousands of student residents, while attending UT Austin. We hope that all of our student residents encounter professional careers that are as satisfying and meaningful, as ours has been.

Great management, great maintenance! The apartments are older, but appliances are up to date and they’re well taken care of. Parking was easy, and having friends come to visit wasn’t a hassle. It felt like a safe little bubble in the middle of west campus. The best value 1 bedrooms in West Campus for sure!

Leslie and Jeff Brown are amazing landlords. I leased from them for 3 years (my first apartment on my own), and their kindness and attentiveness made the experience wonderful. If you want a landlord who knows your name, greets you when they see you, and genuinely cares about how you're doing, this is the place to live. The maintenance is fast and prompt, and the maintenance employee, Brian, is friendly and approachable. He also lives on the property, so in the case of an emergency, you know you'll be in good hands.
