It’s been a minute since I’ve been to A Whataburger. Largely stemmed from the “it’s not the same” mentality.
Needless to say; I was wrong.
The trick is to go to A Whataburger when it’s not busy, e.g. avoid the dinner and lunch rushes and I guarantee your burger will taste better. I was here on a Saturday late afternoon ~16:00, and let me tell you, that burger I had was an arm around the shoulder and a pat on the chest, an almost “it’s good to see you again” moment.

Unfortunately; despite my LOVE for ‘whataburger’ as a whole. This specific location routinely disappoints. Specifically the night management (which is particularly when I am ordering whataburger).
My only complaint for this location is their complete FAILURE to prevent cross contamination in their foods. If you’re one of the FEW who have a rarer allergy such as onion. This place is super dangerous. You can order a food item that does NOT contain these items and because the kitchen team is working so quickly. Somehow these ingredients will end up in your food. And not because it’s a burger that you removed the item from. No; these ingredients are ending up in items that they are not even offered; ie- bacon, egg, cheese taquito, and Sausage Breakfast on a Bun. Super dissatisfying. This was an issue that other fast food companies seemingly resolved. But; because this is a major concern. I cannot reasonably give this location a decent rating.
That being said; I heavily respect the hard work that goes into being a worker in these 24hr establishments. This review DOES NOT take away from the hard work of the employees making the food. My criticism is strictly at managerial oversight issues that allow consistent cross contamination to occur when preparing meals. Please train your team appropriately for quality control, and customer satisfaction.

This whataburger has gotten better! Last time I came here a few months ago it was a TERRIBLE experience. I waited a few minutes at the front but they looked busy so it was fine. Finally a young lady named Kimora came and took my order. She told me to order the Patty Melt and it was great! She was very sweet and recommended a great item. She told me to leave a review if the experience was good.
I waited about 8 minutes for my food which is standard. A young man named Ian brought my food and he was kind. I went to order again but I stood and waited about 5 minutes so I just went through the drive thru which was okay. The sweet tea tasted like sugar and water mixed together with a hint of tea but no whataburger ever has good tea. Overall the food was hot and fresh and the staff was kind!
I usually frequent the Lakeway location down the street every day, but this might be my new restaurant!

This location has delivered consistently accurate and fresh meals. Everyone who works here is super nice and this is my favorite location. I really appreciate them being open so late since I tend to get out of work a little on the later side. They’re always very kind and apologetic when it takes extra time and they’ve always done a great job of listening to my requests.
We've been here 3 separate times in the past 2 months and all those experiences we've had to go back or just had a horrible experience. One night I had just wanted a chocolate shake, we waited 45 minutes for a shake and 2 drinks, when we got the shake it wasnt chocolate and we had already gone home just exhausted by the experience. We called and told them it was banana or vanilla and they said they couldn't refund the order, they would just have to re make it. We went back and got the drink and shake later and the shake was still not chocolate. Another time we went late at night again and the order was completely wrong and we had to go back to get the missing items. We had tried to be patient and just understand that it was late at night. Today we went for breakfast as I wasn't feeling well and just wanted some comfort Whataburger. I ordered a coffee with caramel and sweet cream but the coffee was black, we didn't get the cinnamon roll we ordered but service was quicker at least. It normally takes 20-30 minutes to get anything we order minimum. Today it only took 10.
They had my order in hand and asked me for my name as soon as I walked in the door. Multiple employees were helping me and asking me for anything more I needed. They are constantly working, caring their customers, and always on top of their work. Very nice location.

This Whataburger supersedes any Whataburger nearby especially the Lakeway location…hands down. They take customer service seriously and Food quality service seriously. It’s always clean no matter what time of the day you walk in. They are consistently on point with their food and service. I will go out of my way from Lakeway to come to this location.
