Ordered the shrimp and veggie tempura for pickup. The Pumpkin slice had white mold in multiple places but was breaded and fried anyway. Unfortunately I did not discover this until I ate some and it tasted bad.

My dining experience started out great. My server was polite and attentive. The food was looking great. I started eating the chicken skewer. Another server laughed at me and said, “Do you need a fork?” I said sure. She walked off without giving me one. When she walked by again, I asked her for the fork. She gave me one and said “Better?”I had been using chopsticks. I’m Hispanic and clearly not Asian. I couldn’t help but feel a type of way with her comment and smirky ways. Left feeling inadequate and not sure I’ll return ?

Food was Mid, had better. Only reason I left two stars was because of the food. 1 star, because of the service given. Order was $29 dollars and I left $5 tip. Which I thought was fine since it wasn’t the same server throughout my dining in experience. Not only did my waiter demand more tip $$. She stated “this is America and told me to keep my $5 and tossed my $5 back at me. Really disappointed. Oh and thy forgot some of the food and refills.

Food was okay... SERVICE RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL. We had heard from a few people this place was a nice local spot to try in the neighborhood so we were looking forward to trying it out. We arrived around 5:30 (happy hour ends at 6). We were seated in the back corner of the restaurant, away from all the diners at the time. Didn't pay any mind to that initially until It took 15 minutes before someone came to ask for our order or even water. When we asked to put food orders in as well to make the happy hour we were told "drinks only right now." Our server was snarky and rushed us with our bill. Food that we order that was supposed to be hot was cold. My family and I were enjoying our time to catch up and as we were still eating and finishing drinks. We were brought the bill. The server hovered over as the bill was paid, and shortly after another woman came over questioning the tip on the bill. My parents don't always understand the tipping percentages so I bring cash to leave a tip in the event that one of them pays on a card (because I anticipate them not leaving enough). This has always worked at ANY and EVERY other restaurant we've dined at. However, here we were questioned about our tip and then she approached us again asking if we wanted to change. Despite the rushed service and subpar food, my family and I remained respectful. As we left I spoke to the same person and communicated that we were planning to tip with cash and that being asked about how much the tip was and whether we were going to leave more was rude and unacceptable. However, I've never experienced this ever before. Very disappointing, especially based on the experience we had dining here. Response to owner: Hi Daniel. I understand the tip being less than appropriate on the card reader. My point is that your server came over and asked before we were done with our meal. I was going to leave a cash tip. But your server came over and asked not once but twice, BEFORE WE WERE DONE. That was that part that was rude. We weren't given the opportunity to leave our cash tip because your server came over twice. Do your employees approach all your customers that way?

It's a bit disappointing to call it Korean-style japchae. It contains cabbage, which is not found in traditional Korean japchae. But it's nice because it smells like fire.

The rolls were great but the sashimi and sushi weren’t great. I’ll certainly come back but will only have the rolls. The service was great. The TV’s are a bit tacky and hurts the atmosphere a bit.

Incredible food, incredible service, and the right price. We moved from Houston to Austin, so we are picky about Asian food - Yanagi is the real deal. I particularly enjoyed the Dolstot Bibimbap and the Lychee Sake!!

This is a great Japanese gem on William Cannon. I've been here a couple time and never disappointed. The sushi is great, and I keep meaning to try different dishes but it is so delicious that I find it hard to change. I tried the mochi ice cream and it was good. The ice cream part was really flavorful. The rice coating on the outside didn't taste as I remember, it was not chewy. Always great service here and look at the specials.

Went in on a Tuesday afternoon and was incredibly impressed with Yanagi! The restaurant itself looks super nice and clean, and the waiter was very attentive and polite. And the most important bit is that the sushi was fresh and delicious. Highly recommend going there during their happy hour (4-6pm) because I got two rolls for 20 bucks, which I think is a great price. I left full and happy and will be coming back!
