This is literally one of my happy places! Staff is friendly and warm, atmosphere is cozy, and food is unparalleled. The amount of care and thoughtfulness that goes into every component of every dish is just amazing and hard to find. A really unique and fun concept that doesn’t take itself too seriously but you can tell there is some serious talent in that kitchen. Yellow ranger is a warm hug on a rainy day!

Price does not match the portion I'm used to for Asian food. I paid $16 for like 8 pieces of General Tsao Chicken that weren't even big portions of chicken and small scoop of rice. Don't expect Panda Express prices but would expect a better portion of food. Crab ragoon were OK but filling was moderate and didnt really care for the taste that much. Did enjoy the General Tsao but $24 was a crazy price for the amount and mediocre ragoons. Doubt I'll be back. Feels like shrinkflation prices. I also find the pricing suspect as it was $24 no change but your receipt will show a different price for the food and then add the tax to total $24. Never seen this type of charging before. Maybe I'm just old.

Shockingly good food. I was blown away by the flavour and quality of the meal, best Chinese food in Austin I've had, bar none. And probably half the price of restaurants that are recommended regularly. The bar itself is also a step above your typical dive bar. Pool and a darts board, need I say more.

Had this 3 times now. Had the queso at a house party and had to know where they got it from. In my opinion, Yellow Ranger has the best queso in town. Worth travelling for alone. Also had the burger and the Dan Dan noodles. The burger is legit. The Dan Dan was special. It has a nice Sichuan pepper flavor with super delicious fermented Bok Choy. I would prefer 5 spice ground pork in the noodles, but the larger pieces were well prepared as well. I'm guessing all the Asian dishes on this menu totally ball out. I hope these guys are around for a long time.

Walking through the doors of the Golden Horn is akin to stepping out of the tunnel for your first glimpse of a major league ballpark. The structured scramble of the kitchen announces itself directly in front of you. It teams with the glow of the lights and a smell that will quickly make you forget you originally came to sip away monotony from the comfort of a barstool.

For those who didn’t arrive expecting to find the Yellow Ranger tucked behind the beer taps, serenity doesn’t have to be at the bottom of a glass, try the bottom of a bowl. Their diverse take on American Chinese cuisine is equal parts creativity and comfort. Catering to the carnivores and the animal-affectionate alike, the menu offers everything from light and flavorful dishes to fried (but never greasy) indulgences. And while some of these dishes seem common in a town like Austin, their commitment to bending the rules is anything but.

The true MVP of this murderers’ row menu is the late-night lineup. From beefing up your dorm room instant ramen to a unique take on the classic ballpark hot dog, this culinary roster is batting in Ted Williams territory.

Ordered this place thinking it was just going to be a pretty good Mapo Tofu spot. When I tasted my food, I was blown away by the flavor. Mapo Tofu was tangy, spicy (Numbing), complex and packed with flavor. I wouldn't call it traditional Mapo Tofu as the tofu was fried and the flavor palate was much more packed with bold flavors but it was amazing. Knocked my socks off!

Food is well designed and thoughtful. Very multidimensional, don’t let the fact it’s in a bar discourage you. Tried 4 sides, all were amazing. The fries were perfectly cooked and garnished, and probably the best fries I’ve ever had.

everything was so tasty and balanced and i really wasn’t expecting such deliciously rich food to come out of a bar. they absolutely killed it. the loaded fries were insane as well as the shishito peppers and chinese cabbage. can’t wait to go back and try everything on the menu!

The food and service were fantastic. It's a little loud, but it's a bar, so that's kind of unavoidable. Someone from the kitchen brought us out our food and checked in with us after a bit to make sure everything was good. He was really friendly and it was clear he was genuinely invested in making sure everything was delicious.
