The place is nice and pleasant, the food delicious. It only has one problem, and it's a short, white-skinned woman who works there. Her coworkers called her Dalias. Her behavior is arrogant and shocking, and when you look at her, she looks at you as if you were a nuisance. At first, I felt uncomfortable, and it's not the first time she's done this, since this is my second time here. She should hire people who are cheerful and enthusiastic about us, the customers. But the rest of the service, the chefs, and the food are very good.

We used to frequent Yuki pretty often when they first opened and the head chef/owner worked there, including when they opened their second location. Hadn't been in awhile and was looking forward to visiting again. The quality of the food has seem to gone down. Still an abundant of fish and large pieces, but they are not well put together and easily fall apart. I used to think their fried shrimp head (that came along with ordering sweet shrimp) was one of the best , but was greatly disappointed this time. The batter seemingly changed and now has a chewy texture (likely from using Tapioca flour).

READ THIS:

Me and my girlfriend visited Yuki Handroll Bar on August 17 at 6 pm for her birthday dinner. Servers were professional—this feedback is solely about the kitchen crew. We noticed repeated eye rolls towards us, smiles that disappeared as staff turned away, and an abrupt hand-roll gesture. The kitchen crew is extremely unprofessional and the seating proximity made private conversation difficult. We still tipped well to protect the server’s effort.

This is about awareness and unfortunately, this was our worst dining experience ever. We’ll never come back due to the unprofessional kitchen crew.

I hope management (Jun Kim, Hyo Lim, John Kim, and Ben Yoo) take accountability and address the hospitality culture at the counter.

Hand roll joints are trending with spots popping up across Texas. My rating of 3 stars is based on two things. 1 - this is basically nigiri. Other spots I’ve visited have other elements within the hand-roll that are either stated or a surprise. Here it’s just rice, protein and seaweed. 2. the fish was pre sliced and pulled out of a prep container like a line station where all the pre-sliced fish is kept. The interior is a hodgepodge of decor, with TVs showing nature shows alongside a slideshow of their plates. What is the thing that people come back for? I don’t get it.

If you’re looking for authentic sushi, this is definitely not the place to go. Very disappointed.

I’ve never been to a hand roll bar where all of my selections were brought out at once. Typically, it’s given to me one by one as I’m eating. Because of this reason my unagi came cold.

Another thing to note, these nigiri pieces are huge and not in a good way. When looking at the menu I had wondered why the nigiri cost almost as much or the same as the hand rolls, now it makes sense.

It seems that they pay more attention to detail with the nigiri as they were dressed to look appealing but the taste was subpar. The hand rolls on the other hand were just cuts of fish rolled in their special green tea rice, nothing really special.

A new sushi gem in Austin!
From the moment you walk in, the space gives off omakase vibes elegant, intimate, and stylish but the experience is refreshingly casual and much more affordable than a true omakase. The restaurant only has high-top tables, which adds to its chic, modern feel.

I didn’t know what to expect when my friends brought me here, but wow I was blown away. The cuts of fish for the nigiri were incredibly generous! almost too big to fit in one bite and every piece was fresh and flavorful. The hand rolls were absolutely packed and just as delicious.

My favorites were the wagyu, toro, tuna, yellowtail, pickled cucumber, and chu-toro. Everything tasted high quality and well worth the price.

They also have a solid wine and sake selection. I had a cup of sake that was tasty but quite small for $9—next time I’ll definitely go for the $35 bottle instead.

This place is 100% going on my go-to sushi list. Can’t wait to come back again!

This is one of my favorite go to sushi spots!! Their green tea rice is a level up from the rest, adding so much depth and flavor to the sushi! I usually order a few pieces of sushi and a couple hand rolls and that is the perfect meal! They make everything right in front of you, so you get dinner and a show!!

If you come during peak hours, expect a wait, since this is first come first serve and no reservations. The smaller your party the easier it is to get sat.

DO NOT ORDER TO GO.. you WILL NOT receive the same dine in order/experience. It will be only the main items without the toppings. When I called to “make things right,” I was told… verbatim, “maybe you should dine in next time.”
Paying The Same Price SHOULD REFLECT The Same Dine In Experience..
Very unprofessional, I’m saddened at the response after frequenting the establishment.

We so wanted to love this place. Only diners at 6:30pm on a Friday night. Hostess leaned so close her long black hair cascaded over my shoulders. Yuck. She spoke so fast we could not understand a word. The Nigiri pieces were poorly (enormously) pre-cut, on weird tasting rice (I now know it is matcha /yuzu). It was all served slightly warm and the yellowtail “special” was unappealing in both taste, texture and appearance. We had also ordered the 4 type combo roll which are brought to you in the gloved hand of the server - an unappealing way to serve anything. We asked the host if we could sub anything for the yellowtail in the last hand roll after already having the unpalatable nigiri pieces. He said not possible - there was nothing he could do- not even a veggie handroll instead. Seemed odd since it not yet even been made. Warm, not fresh, pre-cut sushi and poor service is unacceptable.

The hand rolls contained minimal fish and were packed with rice. Considering the price point they should be more balanced than that. The atmosphere was great though

The food was good and the presentation was clean and creative. The sashimi and nigiri pieces were quite large—I ended up cutting them into bite-sized pieces with my chopsticks. The handrolls were a good size and easy to eat. The menu doesn’t offer much variety, but now I know: if I want more options, I’ll just go elsewhere. Still, a solid spot if you know what to expect.

Great sushi for the price, the nigiri is 2x too large, but other than that... Great quality, beautiful presentation, good stuff
