Donaji's Mexican Cuisine

I was very disappointed in this place, we arrived and sat down, took them 10min to send someone out and it was a minor teen who had no knowledge of the menu so she got annoyed when we asked questions about an specific meal and she walked away without answering us. So we figured she'd go get her mom or something 🤔 nope 🙅‍♀ no one came so we decided to leave when we were leaving she said I need to pay for the service lol I honestly laughed cause I thought she was trying to be funny. Nope 🙅‍♀.... she charged me $8 for the complementary chips hehe. Soooo again to me this was A REALLY BAD PLACE TO GO TO VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.

This is our second day in a row coming to Donajis, weve had the Menudo, Pozole, Barbacoa de Borrego and Birria all of which where VERY GOOD! We will definitely be coming back more often!

I was really disappointed with my experience here. This place claims to be authentic Mexican food, but it falls way short. The flavors were bland and felt nothing like real Mexican cuisine. On top of that, the service was terrible — we waited way too long just to be acknowledged, let alone helped. It honestly felt like we were being ignored.

Overall, not worth the time or money. There are definitely much better places out there that actually deliver on both food and service. I won’t be coming back.

“My daughter and I visited this restaurant yesterday. While the food was enjoyable, the atmosphere made us uncomfortable. It happened to be karaoke night, and some of the song choices included repeated use of a racial slur. It is not family oriented karaoke. As the only African American guests present, this created an uneasy and unwelcoming environment for us. I hope the establishment considers being more mindful of the content allowed during events to ensure all guests feel respected and comfortable.”

We will not be returning.

My favorite plate to ask for is el ceviche, they never disappoint with it. Las tostadas are fresh and go perfect with the serving besides that the service is always grate both in English and Spanish. Highly recommend to come and try this place out

Carne asada was great. The red and green sauce were excellent as well. Chips and hot sauce were ok but the meal made up for it. The service is excellent as well. Highly recommend!

Donajis is a little hidden gem in Balchsprings! The food is so fresh and it’s authentic Mexican food! The owner and staff are so nice. They make you feel so welcomed and like family. I’ve recommended this restaurant to many of my family and friends and they’ve all loved it! 10/10 would recommend the flautas!! My family and I have never gotten a dish from here that we didn’t like. Everything is delicious. Itzya was our waitress, she was so professional and funny! She really made our time there enjoyable. If I could go every week I would!!

Everything is delicious!
We had Menudo and birria taco plate, for the kids chiken tenders and quesadilla plate. We had a jarra de agua Fresca, the mango one is very good.
Dessert is great, try the fresas con crema!
Definitely coming back.
