The Barrel is a charming restaurant that has earned a loyal following among local diners. The cozy bar area features a fantastic whiskey selection, and the bartender is praised for crafting exceptional espresso martinis. The menu offers a variety of tempting options, including a popular goat cheese salad with sliced steak and a delectable warm pecan-crusted goat cheese dish.
Recently, the restaurant has gained attention for its creative dishes, such as the brie appetizer with pistachios and the 48-hour roasted pork, which is described as melt in your mouth tender. While the service has received mixed reviews, the restaurant's strengths shine through. The Tomahawk steak is described as perfectly cooked and flavorful, and the short ribs and ribeye entrees are also highly recommended. The bread pudding remains a decadent treat.
The outdoor seating area, complete with a charming water feature, provides a pleasant ambiance, though the heat may be a concern during the warmer months. It is advisable to call ahead for reservations, as The Barrel can get quite busy. Overall, The Barrel is a gem of a place that offers a great dining experience, with a fantastic bar, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere.
