White lady, asked how many,” I said 2 “ then asked to take a seat didn’t say nothing or didn’t ask nothing more about what I was coming in for (brunch or menu). Later a couple was there waiting there before they went in, afterwards a couple got to in and then a group of 8 was able to go in. So we were questioning why are we getting missed. So then we asked again why haven’t we gone then the other latina lady says,” your here for brunch, right so you got to wait since you can’t go from upstairs.” So we just said,” let’s go “ because it is a lie! We were there the other day with a group of 12 and we still got to have brunch.
I am from Canada, I do not recommend this place don’t be fooled by the big palace from the outside the inside is full of ignorance!!!

Cool looking interior, 2 story restaurant. Food was ok, nothing special. They make their own flour tortillas.
Our party of 7 wasn’t all served their meals at the same time, almost 2 minutes to bring out 2 meals.
Had the large party time added (20%) to the bill.

A balcony on the second floor enhances the restaurant's ambiance. The Margaritas are skillfully prepared. Attentive waiters and waitresses provide excellent service. I highly recommend.

BEWARE of charges, ASK for receipt because they wont give ot to you, bacause they add 20% gratuity which they dont deserve but WORST part is that they CHARGE you 3 something % for credit card payment which is never displayed nor any sign explaining that.

Ordered deep fried tilapia. I think it was a casualty of the Southern California wild fires. This fish was fried to a crisp. Would not recommend.

Person sitting across from me had two pieces of meat connected by a hair. A group of us was there for lunch. Everyone was ordering off the lunch menu. I ordered the fish tacos. They were ok, nothing special about taste or the portion. When we got the bill I was charged for the dinner fish taco plate which was considerably more expensive. The server said the manager would only knock a couple bucks off the price. I have no desire to go back to this place when there and plenty of other decent options in Bastrop.

Went there for dinner, great food, great service. Went there the next morning for breakfast great food bad service, and noticed that the single toilet in the men’s room was clogged. Notified 2 people about the issue with absolutely no response. Restaurant was not busy and nobody really cared about people having breakfast there in the morning. Had to go to Home Depot to go to the restroom due to someone eventually using the toilet and staying in there without anyone fixing it. Final review: good food, but pre plan for no toilet!!! Short term in and out restaurant.

Placed an order for baja fish tacos before 9:30pm. Waited for delivery which didn't come. Finally checked my phone and delivery service sent text at 9 28pm that my order had been canceled. No explanation why but we can assume the lazy management and lazy staff just didn't feel up to cooking battered fish and throwing on top of the tacos their listed garnishments. This was the first time I TRIED to order from this establishment and I will never order from them in the future. I advise all patrons to no longer praise their virtues and demand the restaurant to improve their standards of customer relations. I'm even more irritated with the restaurant because I hadn't eaten all day and guess what there was no sleet nor snow that everyone would be sent home for their alleged safety.
9 dollars a taco we paid 50 dollars for 5 tacos and a drink I think is a little to expensive

After a good Sunday hike at Bastrop State Park, this was a no brainer choice.. opted for their brunch and the only thing I wasn't happy about is them running out of flan.. lol.. saw it when we first sat down but was all gone by the time it was time for dessert.. they had a good selection of food and we were pretty happy and and satisfied with this visit.. (we also frequent the Burnet location, so this wasn't a surprise at all).

Extremely noisy, making it impossible to talk with your party. The Mariachis are extremely loud, and the management didn't care. The carnitas had mostly onions and other vegetables but not much "carnita" (meat). Service was fine.

In general the food is good, the brunch lacks a little variety, on this last visit the Menudo smelled very bad, like it wasn't washed well. On the other hand, the waitress that we had was not the best and it was very bad taste that they took us the bill when we had not finished eating nor had we requested it, and she came back 3 times to check for us to pay. In very bad taste. (Bastrop Tx. Location) update: well the food was good, as always the attitude of the waitress was the worst!! On this occasion he was asked to please reheat a dish that was too cold to eat like that and he refused, claiming that he was prohibited from doing so and saying that he had to throw it away. When the manager or manager realized this, he agreed to heat the dish in the oven. microwave. And after a while the waitress arrived and demanded payment of the bill more than once and said that she wasn't coming to the restaurant to talk unless she had to eat!! The house was there to talk. “We have been customers of that restaurant for years and the waitress, this is the second time that she has treated us badly and chased us away, it is the birthday of one of us and we decided to go to breakfast today's buffet, Sunday the 19th.” January 2025, even with the weather we drove 40 miles to Bastrop so as not to eat because of the attitude of this lady and to be harassed by her, I would like to know if that is the order they have from the owners or what is happening but this time they did make me feel that there is some discrimination against me and my Mexican family; Now racism not only comes from those who are like that, but also from our countrymen, according to the waitress she is from Veracruz!! What a disappointment!! Update: a clarification, the waitress according to her is from Guerrero Mexico. In this review he talked about two different occasions, the first was an American waitress and I did it shortly after they opened as Casa Chapala when they started brunch. The second one, which was on January 19, was this waitress who I also asked for coffee and she told me that I should serve it to myself, that it was part of the buffet, I am a person with a disability to walk and she has seen me, why not? It's the first time he's treated me. Another thing that he also told us the several times that he went to demand payment from me was that Cella worked for tips and that we had to go home, that if we wanted to talk so much there at home we should make ourselves a coffee and talk there. . I thought about talking to the manager because I was already very upset, but my relative told me it's better to pay and let's go. We noticed that as soon as the manager heated up the Menudo for us, she got upset and immediately took the bill to us and went to demand payment several times. To whoever read the message, thank you for responding.

This is the Casa Chapala on 71 in the Community Gardens facility. We got seated and waited a good 10 minutes before I had to ask if we had a waiter/waitress. The manager on duty had to come take our drink order but by that time we were ready to order and was told to wait again until they bring us our drinks. We placed our order with the manager on duty but she wasn’t writing anything down, which was the big mistake. We were there a full hour before our food came out, and 3 out of our 4 plates were wrong. The manager corrected it after we pointed it out. They brought us our check, we paid and then left, never to return to order food… drinks maybe, but never food again. This was our 2nd visit and was more disappointed than our 1st visit.

Awesome happy hour specials…just don’t add ground beef to the $6 happy hour queso…I basically just paid $11.50 instead of $6.50 for adding that tablespoon of taco meat. Lame…foods good but won’t be back
