We ordered our wedding "cake" from Johnson's Bakery and absolutly loved it. Insted of cake we wanted a tiered cookie cake. They still had a lot of options of flavors for us. We got the chocolate chip cookie with vanilla buttercream and chocolate buttercream. Everyone at the wedding was very impressed with our cookie cake! As a cookie cake lover, this was the BEST cookie cake I have ever had!! I highly recommend!

I was impressed but my only complaint was that my food was cold and a little soggy by the time I got to it and I live right down the street. I also ordered it ahead of time and was there for pickup early. Food was still delicious though and if I had more energy I could warm it up. Maybe next time I’ll dine in. Give it a try!

This place has so much potential that it gives me high hopes for Bastrop’s local business owners. The bakery confections and treats were beautifully decorated. The temptation was strong to break my summer diet and purchase multiple lime bars. If I were rating purely on the baked goods, 5-stars all the way.I ordered two sandwiches for my fiancé and I along with the “Soup of the day”. The first sandwich was the Reuben panini. I really enjoyed it!The second sandwich was a turkey and pepper jack on a croissant with avocado. I had them hold the mayo and tomatoes as I’m not a big fan but I’m not sure the sandwich would’ve held together if it did have tomatoes. It had a hard enough time with avocados slipping out. I’d suggest thinner onion slices to help with that. It was suggested that I get the sandwich panini’d and I think that’s where the issue came from. It was my mistake to forget to ask them to toast it and this is the solution we came up with so kudos on working with me there. Regardless, it just sort of fell apart and there wasn’t anything unique or special about this one.Lastly, the soup. I know it’s summer, but the fiancé is a huge fan of all soups. I mean ALL soups… except this one. If she doesn’t like the soup, then there’s something really wrong. I wouldn’t be surprised if this came from a can. Also I had the option to pick a soup of the day and a beef and veggie soup. They were one and the same.That said, I think there is some HUGE potential. There seems to be a big focus on the bakery side of the operation, and for good reason, but ever since Base Camp closed down there’s a hole in the market for Bastrop’s next best sandwich shop. I was slightly disappointed in the sandwiches but will absolutely be coming back for the lime bars.

This bakery went above and beyond! We absolutely loved our wedding cake! Even though it took us until the next day to eat it, we absolutely loved it!
We ordered a lemon raspberry cake and a chocolate strawberry sheet cake for our wedding here and absolutely loved it. We got a lot of compliments on both cakes with their looks and taste. Most guests were going for seconds. All at a very good price as well!
