⭐ for SERVICE
I’ve been coming to Kyoto for years — it’s one of my go-to places, and I’ve brought friends and family here many times because I’ve always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. That’s why today’s visit left me so disappointed.
I arrived at 2:10 PM, knowing they close at 2:30, and was greeted right away with, “We close at 2:30.” I asked if I could still order to eat in, and was told yes, but “we’re done at 2:30.” When I asked if that meant I had to leave by then or just order before then, I was asked how long it takes me to eat.
It caught me off guard. Instead of feeling welcomed like usual, I felt rushed and questioned before I even sat down. I understand closing times, but the approach matters. A friendly welcome and a simple explanation would have gone a long way.
I’ve always valued this restaurant for its food and the good experiences I’ve had here, but today reminded me that customer service is just as important. I truly hope this was just an off day, because I’d like to keep coming back. I decided to leave rather than being rushed and feeling unwelcomed.

Solid Asian food. Not a sushi guy, so I cannot comment on that.

Im outside the restaurant right now, they wouldn’t let me in with my service dog even though its not legal not to allow us in and there’s a sticker outside saying that service dogs are welcomed. I also suggested they’ll take one of the tables outside and they wouldn’t. So I’m standing outside hungry after driving here. Shame.
I've been here a bunch, and it's always been great.

Excellent food and standout service. If I was local I would eat here every week. Particularly enjoyed the garlic edamame

We got four rolls and they were pretty good! The house salad had plenty of miso ginger dressing which is not a guarantee at many sushi restaurants. We liked the salmon mango roll, some rolls with eel, and the smoked salmon sashimi

Got there when it was pretty busy for dinner.
I got the heart attack and the bento box. The food is consistently delicious, as always! The service is great, and thanks to Yubi, he was very helpful! He took my order before the big parties got theirs. LoL. It was always a great experience.

We came in just bushed from a camping trip. The staff were super nice, the food fresh, & the ambiance of this little family friendly place is soothing, & we had a great meal!

The salmon nigiri was pretty good , nice thick slices of salmon. A-little disappointed they don’t have any beer on draft, but bottled Sapporo was just fine. Didn’t care for the crazy crunch roll, insides were very mushy. The snow crab tempura roll was delicious though. Would stop by again if I was in town.
