Excellent food and service. We requested vegetarian food without chicken broth and the chef made sure to cater to our request. Entire staff were polite and friendly.

One of the best TexMex restaurants in the greater Austin area. The la crema fajitas are just so amazing. And they have one special added ingredients rarely seen... sundried tomatoes and perfect little mushrooms in a luscious creamy sauce!!! Very different than the usual onion and green bell pepper. OMG... yes there could be tears it is good good. The balance of the menu features all the classics, including mariscos (seafood) dishes.
One small caveat, they are closed on Saturdays. Casual friendly atmosphere.
Generous portions, very reasonable and a friendly staff.

Fried avocado is Amazing! Wife had cheese enchiladas. The queso is the real thing! It's one of the best Mexican restaurants in Bastrop.

Frozen margarita was SO smooth and delicious, I got the strawberry and was not overly sweet like some places. Refried beans are vegetarian and everything was quick and delicious!

Vegetarian options: Refried beans and flour tortillas are vegetarian- they have a few dishes that without modification are vegetarian.

Wow! This place has fantastic, high quality, foods with house-made sauces and flour tortillas! The carne guisada was super delicious. Street tacos were wonderful too. Really tender meats and very flavorful! Best refried beans I’ve ever had, and I usually don’t like refried beans. Great salsas. Friendly staff and cute little interior. Right off the road out in the country past downtown Bastrop. Very reasonable pricing. The lunch menu is extensive and all sounds delicious. I highly recommend Las Cocinas!

Obviously just over-microwaved beans (look at bubbling) and store bought tortillas. Also, we ordered stuffed jalapeños, which came with raw portions of bacon and breading/flour that had not been fully cooked. Don’t see how this place has the ratings it does. Won’t be going back.

We've passed by this little restaurant on our way to Elgin several times. This time, we went there for a late lunch. It was a pleasant experience. The food was good, the waitress was friendly. We'll definitely be back.
