First time trying Golden Chick. Got a family 12 pack of fried chicken, mashed potatoes and okra. The rolls were killer and the chicken was good. Okra was a little soggy for my taste and the mash was a little bland. Take their hot seasoning and mix it in the potatoes, though. It is worth it. it was all rather enjoyable and I am curious to try their roasted chicken aswell, next time.
I love Bush’s Chicken but they are hard to come by nowadays. I have been to a few Golden Chicks over the years and their style of tenders with gravy is very similar. I saw this GC and had to come try it for the nostalgia (I don’t eat a lot of fried foods anymore). I was not disappointed. The staff was courteous, the food was hot and fresh and the restaurant was extremely clean. I don’t have any pictures of the food bc I inhaled it but I go the 3pc tender combo, 4pc tender...
When I went in I asked the young lady to tell me what boxes she had she left. Coleslaw, jalapeno peppers and the rolls we're good but my impression of the chicken I think it was fried twice. The crust was very hard
