“Top 5 BBQ places i have ever eaten at!!!! I have been to a lot. Homemade bbq sauce, not needed dry rub and smoke alone so good. Come early or they start running out. Out of all homemade sausage, brisket and burnt ends when we arrived. All sides are fantastic.”
“We recently traveled to Beaumont and dined for the first time at J. Wilson's on Saturday, 23 March 2024. The website really gave the impression that reservations were highly encouraged, so I set our reservations about 3 weeks ahead of our trip to Beaumont. My first impression of the outside of the restaurant was… slightly disappointed. The exterior is simply a metal building that is painted a gaudy green color. However, the interior is not at all what you might expect – in a very good way! The restaurant is very nice, warm, and quite inviting. It is definitely an example of not judging a place based on the appearance.We were wrapped up in activities when we realized the time and ran to J Wilson's for our reservation at 7:00. There wasn’t a line when we arrived and I will admit to being a bit put-off when we were told that there would be a 10-15 minute wait, despite having made reservations. I get it that things happen, but we altered what we were doing with a family visit to arrive on time to our agreed upon reservation time. I would have loved an additional 10-15 minutes with family, but I did not want to be late for the reservation.That said, both bartenders immediately began improving our experience – I wish we got their names. We were eventually seated in Ava’s section and she was such a delight! It really is due to Ava’s wonderful service that ensured we had a very pleasant and enjoyable experience. She was friendly, helpful, and seemed to be happy to be there. Truly a joy!Here's what we did not care for – cutting short personal plans to arrive on time for reservations and then having to wait once we arrived. The crab cake “Starter” was really a deep-fried breading cake with MAYBE a splashed flavor of crab. It is in no way, shape, or form a lump crab cake, as indicated on the menu. I truly don’t think we had a single lump of crab between either cake. (The Boudain Balls are on point, though!) We ordered steak, but only one side comes with the entrée… you are most likely going to purchase a second $6 side (on top of the $38 steak). They do offer salads that are described like they’d be very good, but the menu makes them seem like they are intended as a meal.If we find ourselves in Beaumont, we’ll definitely return… though it is unlikely that we’ll bother with reservations in the future.”
“I have multiple food allergies that can de nerve wracking trying to eat somewhere new. We were staying at the hotel next to this restaurant, and I was tired from being on the road most of the day. I called over and spoke with a manager to see if they would be able to accommodate my many allergies. And I was presently surprised to find out I would have a variety of options, this is rare for me.So we walked over to the restaurant a few hours later. The manager I spoke to on the phone told me to let my waitress know that I needed to talk to him to order. Well Adriana, the manager, was delighted to help prepare me a meal that I wanted and double and triple checked ingredients to make sure it would be safe.My meal was really yummy and safe! And my partners meal looked and smelled amazing even if I couldn't eat it.We had the fried mozzarella balls to start, and then I had the chicken & shrimp combo with broccoli. My partner had the meatball parmesan sub with fries.My allergies all fall outside the top 9. They are corn, coconut, honey, tomato, onion, mint, ginger, and cinnamon.Our waitress was attentive as well.Dietary restrictions: Very good about handling food allergies.”
“Sliders were so good! Had a strawberry daiquiri! Played games and enjoyed the outdoor space. My dog came and we had a nuce lunch. Try them out. Owner was friendly and attentive but not in your face, it was a perfect balance.”

“It's a stunner. Best Scallops I've had in a long time, mushroom risotto perfect, served with asparagus as well. Beef vegetable soup is fantastic also. Service at the bar by the Seth's is fantastic. Tiramisu is top notch. Only criticism may be the noise level. Some sound absorbing material is needed. Great people, superior food and a wide ranging menu will bring me back. Can't wait for Dinner this evening.”

“Yes. The gravy is dark. And soooo good! Glad I gave this place a try. Will definitely return. We pulled up right at opening and there were already several people ahead of us. Obviously has a strong local following. We tried smothered chops, hamburger steak, and beef tips. The kids immediately liked it. Parking was easy, staff was friendly and fast. The cabbage was already flavored. No hot sauce needed. Mac n cheese, sweet yams, cabbage, cornbread and taters and gravy were all on point in large servings. And the tea is just right. Will definitely return.”

They show love and caring me and my wife were not good speaking Spanish, but the lady could also speak English. She was patient with us. She explain things to us something that we didn’t understand, and not to mention the food was amazing. We spent $60 on a lot of food and it’s worth every penny it was a very good decent price for a lot of food is worth it. It was full of flavor very authentic something that we’ve been wanting because we love Mexican food we definitely come there more often I think the family so much she even serve us with a smile everything I think them so much for the wonderful experience and also it was very clean, and I love the fact they cover the food as well. They were serving the Saturday brunch menu, I ordered the lamb chops and waffles, and my wife ordered the fish and grits. Both dishes were very delicious and well seasoned. My 26th birthday would've been incomplete without the cake. Everyone enjoyed it and it was an absolute hit.I also transferred the cake 1.5 hours from Beaumont to Houston. She is able to put it in a box where you can travel it safely.If you're hesitant on getting a cake done, this is your sign to go ahead and do it! You won't regret it. “My friends and I were have an impromptu girls night, and we needed tacos! I texted them on Facebook and they immediately responded, we ordered 60 tacos for 6:30 pick up. When I say those tacos were hot and delicious!!! OMG this has always been my favorite spot. But the service I received for a last minute order was beyond exceptional. I will always recommend them for authentic Mexican street tacos. Oh and the elote is delicious as well! Love love love this place and thank you so much for making our girls next dinner!! Oh yea. One of them was so very loud, obnoxious and vulgar that I sought out the manager because there were children seated near her. I have gotten their chicken sandwich, bang bang shrimp, salad, devilled eggs, and My favorites are their chicken sandwich and the bang bang shrimp. They both come with their special sauce, which is delicious! The chicken sandwich comes with a side of fries. I like the bun they use for the chicken sandwich, which is slightly sweet, and the crispiness of the chicken. Their bang bang shrimp is also crispy and comes on a bed of lettuce and shredded purple cabbage. Their fish was greatly portioned. It comes on top of rice and squash. They also placed some shrimp on top. Overall, I do like they have a variety of different options and their proportions. I think it is a great place of you are trying to satisfy different cravings within a group.”

“I've always heard how good Ralph and Kacoos were and I've wanted to try them for over 20 years, probably more! But, I lived in Houston and it was on the other side of town and never went out of my way to make that drive. Then they opened one in Galveston, but never made that either. Finally got to try this one in Beaumont where the old Steakhouse was. Waking in we were promptly greeted and asked if we wanted a table or booth. We usually always go for the booth, so booth it was! Our server came to the table and was very friendly and outgoing. She got our drink orders and came right back. She then asked about appetizers. So we ordered the Firecracker Shrimp and also the Swamp Bites (fried Alligator nuggets) for our 8 year old. We also tried an order of two each of their four different kinds of grilled oysters. Two were garlic butter and Parmesan, two were topped with a crabmeat mixture, two were oysters Rockefeller, and two were topped with cheese and jalapenos! They were decent with my favorite being the jalapeno cheese! For our dinners our 8 year old had fried shrimp and fries off of the kids menu. My wife decided on the shrimp and grits, I ordered the Delta combo of catfish fillets and oysters. The Firecracker Shrimp were really good, but not a lot of them. Our 8 year old ate the entire appetizer of fried alligator!!! We had to get a side of ranch to dip it in because he didn't care for the Hollandaise sauce that came with it. My wife's Shrimp and grits were just ok, she was a little disappointed that it looked like they just put ettouffee over grits with shrimp! I tasted it and I didn't really care for it because when you've had great Shrimp and Grits you compare everything else to that. My Delta combo had two catfish fillets and 6 oysters with fries, plus two hush puppies. Now in most places you go that have seafood they offer combo platters of try items of your choice at a set price. Here they charge you for the cost of a platter of one item and then add six dollars and change to that. So somewhere else you might pay $22-23 Dollars for a combo platter. Here at R and K's your going to pay around $26-27 dollars for a combo platter that didn't have as much as other places. My catfish was not fresh and was tough around the edges, the oysters were a little overcooked. I also love Tarter Sauce with my seafood. I didn't care for theirs at all. It just didn't have much of a taste to it. So when you're used to eating good seafood when you've grown up around it all your life and you know what it's supposed to be like, you're going to be a little disappointed with seafood here. Now I think of all those years wanting to try R and K's only to find out it wasn't quite what you expected.I didn't mind driving two hours for great seafood. And there are quite a few really Good places two hours from me.”

I was in the mood for Chinese, but ever since Chef Chen closed down Chinese is hard to find when you live in Silsbee. I used to love eating here but since I work close to home and hardly ever get to Bmt I haven't had it in years. I decided I needed both the Orange and the Bourbon Chicken in my life. Then I just had to decide between noodles or rice....but then I saw you could get 1/2 and 1/2 so I ordered the 2-entree meal. I'm happy to say DoorDash was very easy to order through and I could include my tip for my driver. The wait time said 38 mins, but my food arrived in around 20. The meal came with a fortune cookie, just like I remembered. It's been probably close to about 8 years since I had their orange chicken or the bourbon, but when I say my taste buds did a happy dance after the first bite, I'm talking about the full electric slide lol. The whole meal was great from start to finish, including the fortune cookie. If your looking for good Chinese that's on the cheaper side, I would definitely recommend this place.”

“It was raining during our visit through the drive thru. We asked for cheese and no pickles on one of our chicken sandwiches. The sandwich had pickles and no cheese. We were not charged for the cheese. We were given condiments we didn't ask for. The hand held card reader wasn't working. The young lady was very professional and kind. Maybe the rain coming from the drain and hitting the roof of the cars then, bouncing towards the young lady as she took orders caused her to miskey the order. Just something to take into consideration when the employees are standing outside in heavy rain gear. Food was great. Fast service. Convenient location just off the highway. Heavy traffic area.”
