“Finally, I can say that I've eaten at Bobby's Homestyle Cooking, and it did not disappoint!!! My deceased parents ate lunch there frequently and always raved about it, and my family enjoys it regularly, and yet I had never had the opportunity to eat there myself, until yesterday! My meal was absolutely delicious! In spite of my skepticism of ordering gumbo from a restaraunt (my family makes fabulous gumbo & it's hard to measure up), I ordered the gumbo. WOW!!! It was wonderful! So savory & flavorful, and sooo similar to my family's! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal (with delicious potato salad) and my lunch partner had the beef tips, which I sampled as well & found delicious & tender! The atmoshere inside is very quaint with lots of hunting/fishing decor inside, and a neat ball cap collection on the ceiling. I also must comment on the staff - every one of them was very welcoming (even though we arrived 30 minutes before closing), friendly, warm, personable & helpful!
I loved my experience at Bobby's Homestyle Cooking yesterday, and I'm looking forward to returning soon for another delicious meal! Can't wait to try something different because I just know it will be delicious, too! Highly recommend if you're in Nederland & hungry between 10:30 am - 3:00 pm Tuesday through Friday!”

The staff Arlette, Stephanie, Vanessa, Brenda and Alejandra are very friendly, always has a smile, the food is always hot and you get a very good size portion, the owner Fidel walks up to every table and greets you with a smile and shakes your hand. If you haven’t tried Juanita’s Country Kitchen you need too. You will not be disappointed.”

“I dropped in today with my four kids and my mom, who had never been. Everyone was so helpful and kind, patient with sampling flavors while we were trying to decide what to get. I love the vibe here and everything is just so fresh and creamy. Having the allergens listed on each flavor is great for those with sensitivities! A must visit spot especially in the hot summer months!”

Jesse (sp?) was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable…she took the time to answer all my questions and made me feel so welcome. She told me all about why she does what she does and her processes. Explained all the details about what was on the menu. You can tell she truly cares about what she does. And the food… absolutely amazing! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. I will definitely be back! The portion sizes were enough for 2 meals in one. Today for lunch and dinner I had the crab Rangoon burrito..delicious. I got the chicken taco salad bowl for another meal this week. If you haven’t been by, check them out.”

“Had a dinner date with my wife here tonight and we were both happy with the food and service. Get the lobster tail, scallops, catfish, shrimp, flounder, and raw oysters. The calamari was chewy, the onion rings were meh, but all-in-all, great experience. We will definitely be back and post a glowing google review. Seating was great and readily available for early dinner accommodations. The Jack Frost margaritas were lightweight but tasty all the same. Don’t hesitate to make substitutions for the platters if there’s something you know you would prefer instead of one or two of the items.”
