“Jones food brings back memories of our grandmother 's cooking on Sundays. Their food is served hot, seasoned well, the plates are fully loaded, where 2 people can make a meal on one plate. The place is neat, cozy warm and clean. And the people are very, very friendly. I would highly recommend Jones. This is a welcoming place.“

“The place doesn’t look the best, not that it doesn’t feel clean, in fact for the type of building it is, it feels well taken care of, just feels like an old location, which can only be helped so much.

The people who I assume own or at least operate the place are super friendly and attentive. I’ve only been here twice but each time it was good. Customers were a bit on the rougher side being rude to the owners and such, but given the location and the fact it’s Beaumont I expect no less from the people that come in.

The food, it reminds me of a style of home cooking that isn’t extremely over the top of flavors, but isn’t offensively without flavor. It feels like someone is holding back to have a broader palette for those coming in, which is nice on the stomach which you might be having a rough day and you want more comfort than extremes.

The options are about what you’d expect from a chicken place. Pretty standard stuff, but the fish? I didn’t expect fried fish, or some of the other sides like dumplings and okra. And the baked chicken had a sauce it sits in that is amazing.

They have lots of ketchup, hot sauce, tartar sauce, and honey mustard. They have also have some other sauces you can buy separately which I assume is just par for Hartz buffet seeing as the one in port Arthur does the same, the fact they have a lot of other no additional charge options makes me not upset I can’t have barbecue sauce with my chicken.

If I had one complaint it was just that the yeast rolls didn’t last. Though to be fair I wasn’t the only one trying to get one because they were so fluffy and delicious.

All in all, it was great. Nothing bad happened yet and I hope it stays that way when I go back in the future.“

Steak tips over mashed potatoes, shrimp and fish, ribs, large ribeye, Monte crisco, sirloin, chicken straps, cheese curds, fries, broccoli casserole, green beans, corn, baked potatoes, honey butter corseants,...... absolutely wonderful. Everything was above and beyond! Celebrated a birthday and I personally tried every dish myself and everything was absolutely wonderful 🫶

“Finally, I can say that I've eaten at Bobby's Homestyle Cooking, and it did not disappoint!!! My deceased parents ate lunch there frequently and always raved about it, and my family enjoys it regularly, and yet I had never had the opportunity to eat there myself, until yesterday! My meal was absolutely delicious! In spite of my skepticism of ordering gumbo from a restaraunt (my family makes fabulous gumbo & it's hard to measure up), I ordered the gumbo. WOW!!! It was wonderful! So savory & flavorful, and sooo similar to my family's! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal (with delicious potato salad) and my lunch partner had the beef tips, which I sampled as well & found delicious & tender! The atmoshere inside is very quaint with lots of hunting/fishing decor inside, and a neat ball cap collection on the ceiling. I also must comment on the staff - every one of them was very welcoming (even though we arrived 30 minutes before closing), friendly, warm, personable & helpful!
I loved my experience at Bobby's Homestyle Cooking yesterday, and I'm looking forward to returning soon for another delicious meal! “We got a family meal to go. Two orders of the family size chicken tenders with fries and 2 family sides of corn. Everything was packed well and they have the BEST plastic ware! The staff was prompt and kind in delivering it out to our car. Their curbside service seems to work very well. The app was no problem, very easy. We got gravy and BBQ sauce for the chicken but there are several different sauces you can order. This meal was pleant for 5 family hefty family members with enough left to send food home to both houses. Can't say enough good stuff about it. Looking forward to purchasing this again the next gathering we have“
