Newish spot in Beaumont. I ordered the number 2, which is like chicken breast nuggets. I got the jalapeño version which is cool because they actually fry the peppers too. Sides were crinkle cut fries and fried okra and it comes with fry bread which is basically an unglazed donut. Chicken was good, fries could use a little seasoning and a lil while longer in the grease. Staff was nice/courteous. Not a big fan of the Rex sauce but if you like that Cane sauce it kinda reminds you of it.
The owner is amazing, personable, and so sweet. The food is absolutely amazing! I had the original chicken with Mac and cheese. My husband had the jalapeño flavored chicken with mashed potatoes. It was to die for! The food and atmosphere were great
I had heard good things so I decided to try for myself. I ordered a 2 side combo and 2 kids meals. The kids loved it and actually ate their food for a change. I really enjoyed the chicken and fry bread. The fries and okra were great too. The staff was very friendly and professional. They were out of the Rex’s sauce so I’ll have to return to try it.
I had been waiting to try this place! The portions were great and tasted wonderful - sauce was ok - BUT it was 12:30 on a friday lunch hour - out of fries, I chose okra (which was great!) and mashed potatoes and gravy - very small portion of the mashed potatoes and there was a hair on the outside of the mashed potato container which was INSIDE the tray with my food!!! GROSS - and there was no fork to eat them with, The napkins were also inside the container on top of the chicken so they came pre-greased. The service was great and the people were really nice. I did call and ask for a manager at one and they told me the managers were in a meeting - really tho
I went to Rex's not knowing what to expect, and I was honestly disappointed. I had heard good things about it and wanted to try it after reading a few local reviews. I ordered the large order of chicken with half original and half jalapeño chicken. I also got fried okra, corn, and the plain fry bread. The chicken tasted OK, the corn was overcooked and dry, and the fry bread was full of grease. The only good thing was the fried okra, but it was salty. The portion size for the chicken was very small, especially after spending about $16 for my food. Definitely won't go back anytime soon.
I had the Jalapeño Chicken with Coleslaw and Crinkle fries with the house sauce. With both experiences I have had here I am very satisfied. I usually do not crave fried chicken, but this place definitely hits that button. Keep it up!
I was very disappointed. The fried bread with the cinnamon had no sugar. They forgot my Mac and cheese. When I brought the fried bread back to get sugar put on it they told me that's how it came But they did give me a Mac and cheese But on the other hand the chicken and okra are very good.
First time getting their food. Fast process through the drive thru and staff was friendly.1st Meal - Jalapeño chicken with Mac and cheese and coleslaw2nd Meal- Original Chicken with Fried Okra and Mac and cheese. Both of the plates of food were COLD! Didn’t even taste like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. Just cold. Jalapeño chicken was definitely different.Sauce tastes just like Raisin Canes for sure.Coleslaw and the Mac and Cheese were VERY good(only reason I’d give them a 1 star, or else I’d give a no star).High priced for some subpar food.Won’t be going again. After doing a little research seems like the company is originated in Oklahoma. Well Oklahoma, this is Texas. We do fried chicken with a little bit higher standard than up there in Oklahoma. Pack your bags and go back!
The food was terrific especially the j Jalapeño chicken meal with crinkle fries, sweet tea fresh and the famous Rex sauce. Antoinnette the manager was outstanding!
Had lunch there today, and WOW! Hubby and I got one larger order and shared, it was PLENTY! $16 for lunch and a drink. The flavor is unlike anything I have ever tried, really good! Big chunks of white meat chicken, breaded and fried to perfection! And, the fry bread, well, that's just something you have to taste to appreciate. The ladies at the register SAID MY NAME at least 5 times. "Ms. Denise, the cups are right here, Ms. Denise, don't forget your straw, Ms. Denise, how'd you like that meal?" When was the last time you ever heard your name at a restaurant?? Top notch service, EXCELLENT food! Give them a try, you will not be disappointed!

I wasn’t impressed at all. Only thing that was decent was the fry bread and they are stingy as hell with the powdered sugar. Both nuggets taste the same, only difference is one has fried jalapeños. Doubt I will ever go back
Loved the food.
Trash! I mean garbage. It's not worth even a frist time taste experience and isn't a reflection at all of the original Rex Chicken in Oklahoma.I was given the wrong food not once but twice and I wasn't the only one. There were customers waiting over 30 mins and I got my food way before they did. After waiting for over 30 mins for them to remake my food a third time, I was excepting pipping hot food, however, my chicken came out cold and chewy because it wasn't even done. I ordered two King Rex meals with mashed potatoes and green beans, sweet corner, two drinks Came to 30 dollars and change. Now, I was raised in the Cherokee Nation and make fry bread myself...this is NOT real fry bread. So today I wasted 30 bucks in the tasteless, undone chicken bites.Mashed potatoes were real and good. Everything else blah. The pros: The customer service was sweet, kind and amazing. If it wasn't for them I would have demanded my money back for the wait and mix ups alone. Yet. That will not hold up on keep this establishment going. They have got to season their food and do better quality control.
Service was ok. When I got home I thought I had covid because I couldn't taste ANY seasoning. We got the chicken sandwich and we should have went to Popeyes. And the inside smelled like a Asian nail shop.
We stopped by for a quick bite last night and left fat and happy!I got a spicy chicken sandwich, which wasn't very spicy, but still tasted great with the Rex's sauce, and a side of mashed potatoes and ordered a side of the fry bread. My wife got a chicken meal and chose the okra and fries and it also came with fry bread. The chicken tasted just as good as it looked in all the pictures we've seen previously. The fry bread was delicious, especially with the honey packets it comes with. With the drinks that came with our meals the total was ~$23.With it being brand new it was obviously very clean inside. The lady that took our order was exceptionally nice, and so was the one that came by to take the tray from the table. We always look forward to new choices for food in the area, and I hope this one sticks sticks around!
