The good part first: from the minute we walked in, the service was fantastic and the owners were very kind and attentive. You can tell that they care about having a nice business. So now the not-so-good: my wife and I went and both ordered spicy miso ramen. Either they brought us the wrong thing or it was the most un-spicy un-miso bowl of noodles I’ve ever had. The broth was very basic. The dumplings we ordered were just...alright. None of it tasted horrible per se, but it certainly is not up to the par with the best of D/FW’s ramen restaurants. We left feeling disappointed in what we hoped would be a nice addition to the neighborhood.

I have been coming to this place for year! This is by far the best place for ramen ever! The noodles are so butter and the broth is very rich and creamy and has so much flavor! When I go to other ramen shops I am always super disappointed because this place has set the standards so high for ramen! Everything you could get here is amazing! It’s like a cute mom and pop shop and you can really tell how much love they put into it!

Do not go here if you love good food. It’s sloppy dry and not good. Very cheap and not worth the price. If it was cheap to eat here then I would understand why everything is the way it is. But they are trying to overcharge you for everything when the food is garbage. You can go next-door and get pho or better food just right across the street or if you really want to spend the same amount of money. And if you wanna go somewhere, just a little up the road go to Thai Jasmine That place is perfection And great prices . Don’t waste your money here it’s not worth it save money and don’t waste your time on food. That’s not worth the price. I definitely should’ve listened to the reviews and not have went, but I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt and I should’ve just listened to the reviews.

Got the spicy tonkatsu, pretty good for the price ($14.9 after tax). Brothe tasted good, but too oily in my opinion. Noodles was alright. Egg tasted great, but I think it would be better if it was soft boiled over hard boiled. Tonkatsu was perfect, no issues. Might go back.

They’ve been making ramen broths for over 30 years and it definitely shows

Was craving ramen and this was the closest place. Got the regular tonkatsu ramen and was disappointed. The egg was too salty, broth had a weird taste to it, and noodles were bland. Would not recommend.

Great food and service! The place could use a freshen up and be a little cleaner but you cannot complain about the food, prices, or service. These people are great.

Great quality food for an affordable price. Its a soft-opening as of writing this review so it is understandable that some things may not be ready (like the some appetizers, rice dishes and the problem with the window). Even so, the ramen tasted amazing, such as the broth (apparently simmered overnight!) and eggs. The place was clean and the young man who was our waiter was attentive and polite. Don't let all these other poor reviews scare you away from this place. Can't wait for the grand opening - definitely coming back.

EDIT: I tried again 7 years after their grand opening and I am quite disappointed to say the least. The restaurant has no decorations on the walls and felt empty. As for the food, the eggs were still good, but the tonkotsu ramen had zero flavor - maybe I should have got the spicy tonkotsu option. The shoyu ramen broth was actually quite good, but the meat was salty. Also, avoid the takoyaki and crab rangoon appetizers… the takoyaki has zero sauce and is just fried dough. The crab rangoon barely has any crab/cheese in it and is mostly breading. Overall I have to change my rating from a 5 to a 2, it seems like nothing improved since the grand opening and they mostly focus on to-go orders.

Ramen Joy in Bedford is truly a hidden gem! The ramen was delicious, with rich, flavorful broth and perfectly cooked noodles. The egg rolls were crispy and fresh, adding the perfect complement to the meal. What really sets this place apart is the exceptional service. The staff was welcoming and attentive, making the dining experience even better. Whether you're a ramen enthusiast or just looking for a great local spot, Ramen Joy is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

To temper expectations and what may not suit everybody palates cuz of low reviews I’ve read.

The ramen is based on Chinese style more than Japanese style.

I’ve had the pleasure of eating both styles in Japan and Free China.

Soup is not meant to be heavy and thick like Japanese styles generally.

Based on that judgement according to the origins, It’s pretty good and delicious.

Interior is typical of what you see back in day of Asian mom and pop shops, minimalist and here to concentrate on food.
Very reasonable prices.

Also surprised to find soup-filled dumplings.
