Hello reader,
I’ve been coming to sushi soho since I moved to Texas in 2023 and this was always my go to spot and it used to to be amazing but unfortunately in my opinion ever since they introduced the hotpot section of the restaurant, the quality and portion sizes of the sushi went down extremely. I understand from a cost standpoint the owners most likely decided to split the budget in half, maybe something like 60%-40% to save money overall or simply remain in budget and to make sure each side (sushi or hotpot) was well balanced. Ive come back to the restaurant 4 separate times since the introduction of the hot point and I noticed each time I came back the quality of the sushi went down and the service. My recent experience was not great at all I had the same server before that is very dismissive and rather talk to her colleagues in Hindi instead of properly tending to her customers. I’m not a needy customer but twice I’d had to flag her down and remind her that I’ve ordered other items that never came and to top it all off this 01-26-26, I received SPOILED/ ROTTEN CONDENSED MILK on the milky buns. When the sever placed it on my table I instantly knew that It was spoiled because It had a green hue to it. (The pictures don’t really pickup on that well.) Even with me seeing that it was that color I still tried the milk on my chopstick and oh my god was it sour 🤢. Overall I’m very disappointed that my once favorite sushi spot had declined in quality and service and even served me spoiled items. I will not be returning unfortunately. If you you’ve never been here before and know what good quality sushi taste like I believe you will be dissatisfied coming here. 😕

I was really disappointed with my experience at Sushi SoHo. The service was extremely slow—it took way too long for our food to arrive, even though the restaurant wasn’t very busy. We asked for water multiple times and never received it, which was frustrating. When the food finally came out, it was cold, which made the long wait feel even worse. Overall, the lack of attention from the staff and the poor quality of service really ruined the experience. I expected much better.

Once was a fantastic experience... lunch or dinner, didn't matter. However, the place has deteriorated to utter disappointment. Service, terrible. Food, mediocre. Management, careless. Manager on duty even admitted the owner(s) no longer care about this location, they dedicate their time to their other restaurants. We, the customer, should do the same. Find good sushi elsewhere!

Great pricing for all you can eat. Couple of weird rules like the whole table either picks sushi or Hotpot menu. Otherwise, service is great, and my god- the food is delicious. Perfect first place date for under $100 fellas

A pretty great first experience for hot pot.
Went in with a group of 5, and the waitress took a while to take orders and get the food/ingredients out, but everyone got a lot of good stuff.
Wouldn't really recommend coming in large groups. Best for 1-4 people.
Food was brought out in large groups instead of smaller more controlled groups.

The hot pot was fun and delicious. I’ve never cooked meat, veggies and ramen at my table. Only negative was the sticky floors, especially in the men’s room.

My first time trying the sushi and hot pot pairing. They went so well together. Selection was fresh and our waiter was very friendly

Very disappointed with the service from the moment we sat down our server approached us with disrespect and disgusted look. We had to leave immediately. I’m sad my kids had to see that. We don’t even open our mouths when she came and said “what do you want” with a nasty look!

We got the hot pot and sushi AYCE. Hot pot had limited choices for meat/add on. And the sushi had a larger menu section to choose from but it wasn’t the best tasting fish. Atmosphere was good and service was kind.

All you can eat sushi sounds like it would be low quality, but it is basically the same quality and menu as your standard sushi restaurant. The main benefit is that the dishes are small so you can try many more dishes than a regular restauraunt, and at a way cheaper price. Great experience, will definitely come back.
