Great American Cookies

Ordered a large customer birthday cake for my daughters 8th birthday here. I was hesitant after reading the terrible reviews, but the location at Barton creek mall closed down and my daughter really wanted a cookie cake, so I had limited options.

I ordered the cake 3 weeks in advance. To be extra safe bc of the bad reviews, I called at least 3 times (even the day before) to check in just to make sure they still had my order and that it would be ready on Saturday.

I showed up on Saturday and no one was there. I waited 45 minutes and no one ever came to open the store.

As I was driving home, I got a call from the owner and he apologized saying no one showed up for work that day and no one ever made the cake.

I couldn’t believe it.

I had to scramble going from HEB to HEB to find a cake hours before 15 kids were coming to my house for a birthday party when I should have been at home setting up the house. Made the whole day a giant ball of stress.

This place is awful. Do not go here.

Absolutely the best cookies!! We love the shop, the cookies, the ice creams and the owner is sooo nice!! Our little one always enjoy the outings to the cookie store. She is of course only allowed a little bite or two. Everytime when we visit Bee Cave we always make sure to stop here.

Doesn’t know the difference between chocolate syrup and hot fudge.

This place has horrible hours and the staff seems incompetent regarding what their products are supposed to be. Have been visiting GAC since childhood and they were super rude when I asked to order a dinky doozie saying they didn’t know what I was talking about.

this place is HORRIBLE. I ordered a cookie cake to be delivered for my granddaughters birthday. it arrived with the icing squashed and ruined. when I called they they said I would have to pay for another because it was a delivery issue and I would have to take it up with Uber. I said I didn't pick Uber they did. They said sorry but not our problem. and asked if I wanted to purchase another $50 cake. So they ruined my little granddaughters birthday and screwed me out of $50 some dollars. Do yourself a favor - order from someone else.

The cookies are great and there's usually a decent inventory unless you're within an hour of closing.If you pay by card, the system forces you to leave a tip. If you type in a custom $0 tip, the screen does not allow you to proceed, you must enter a tip (even $0.01). Never seen any other business do this before...

I loved working here a few years ago. I made some pretty neat cakes. Tons of fun.

Cake came out all wrong. Did not follow instructions. See Pic…had to wipe off a random “L” could have done more on the graphics for the price.OTX OR BUST!!!LUCA ~ STELLA ~ NICO ~ REED 2023(CAMP THEME , WATER, GRASS, SUN, CAMPFIRE, 1 GIRL, 3 BOYS, ETC.)

2 hours before closing and they don't have but about 10 cookies in the display. Why are you even open if you don't sell cookies? Talk about a poorly run business (assuming you can even call it a business) No chocolate chip cookies? A cookie shop might as well be an auto shop if they don't have chocolate chip cookies. I made a special trip here for a basic cookie. Lesson learned, I won't ever do that again in this location.

Worst location ever!! Never a selection of cookies always out of cookies horrible manger owners are never “available” closed most of the week always too “busy” to take cookie orders!!!

Ordered a cookie cake online because they wouldn't take my order over the phone, and then they didn't make my cake for my scheduled pick up time, didn't offer a discount or any options. Left me hanging for my kid's birthday!

Impromptu play date with my daughter’s bestie! Great American Cookies was on their mind. Can’t go wrong with homemade ice cream and cookies!For the record they are under new management!! I’m super glad to hear that. The owner, Suzie, was so kind, friendly and quick. We had a great conversation and I truly enjoyed it!So, if you’re craving something sweet and want great friendly service, Great American Cookies is the answer! I even took some cookies to go for the baseball game we were going to. Snickerdoodle and chocolate chip are what the boys like.So, take your family out tonight! Don’t forget to treat the teachers too! They have a sweet treat for everyone!

Ordered a custom cookie cake for Christmas . While the staff called to confirm design , when I got the cookie cake it was thin and very hard. Even gave the staff a generous tip. Will not be ordering from this location again.
