“After seeing on television that the restaurant won a James Beard award, I put it on my list of places to go. The expectations were pretty high, and our party was not disappointed. The medium spice level was perfect...flavorful with a kick. Drunken Noodles, Krapow Beef, and the Meatball Appetizer were our favorites. This restaurant was an hour drive for us and did not disappoint. It was worth the trip, and we will be back. The only two criticisms would be that their front door is darkened, and from outside, does not look like an actual entrance. And the noise level was a little high, so our server had to repeat herself a few times, but she didn't seem to mind and checked on us regularly to make sure we were enjoying ourselves“

“We had an amazing dinner with shu mai, fried eggplant, and golden sacks for appetizers, som tum papaya salad, and mama pad and pad nam prik pao for entrees, followed by fried banana with honey for dessert, then thai wings to go. I can't describe how impressed I was with all the wonderful levels of flavor. I got level 2 heat and my hubby got level 3. I didn't even try his, mine was just the perfect amount of spice and I actually love heat. Their level 2 is more than enough heat than most other similar restaurants. The sauces were on point as well. Emmy, our server was very attentive and sweet. The music was a light and jazzy and not so loud you have to scream to talk to anyone. I ordered soup (Shrimp tom yum) I got the bowl w/noodles I spent $15 total tax included. At first I was a little caught off guard by the price given the size of the bowl , but for the quality of the food i understand why and I would pay it again, fyi they where not stingy with the shrimp or the ingredients it was plentiful, and bowl size turned out to actually be enough. I ordered for take out so it was a brief encounter but staff was nice

“The BEST Authentic Thai Food in Houston! I am Thai and have lived here for 26 years. I’ve eaten at Vieng Thai from the old time it first opened probably around 2025, 2 decades ago, until today. The taste still is the same!

Tom is also Terrific singer! We have enjoyed his songs and his performances every Saturday. Ple, the waitress, is also very kind, attentive, and professional.

We give our highest recommendation for anyone who seeks authentic Thai food in Houston!!

“Had no clue Rooster and Rice & OhMyGogi! Joined forces.

The guy at the front counter was awesome, person-able, knowledgeable on the menu, and helped us out greatly. From start to finish!

I first had OhMyGogi! When they were just a taco truck driving around town and at local events like for HUG Tx2k. We absolution enjoyed everything we tried.

The Korean BBQ Street Tacos were just full of flavor as a must try item!
The sliders were our other favorite along with the quesadilla.

And Rooster & Rice is just as delicious, highly suggest for first timer to try the “cutlet” the crust and crunchiness is the way to go. Chicken was juicy, tender, and full of flavor for something so simple.

The only bad item worth noting is that seating inside is rather limited. (See pic) it’s VERY small, 4-5 seats at a bar counter top. So if you plan to sit down, you’ll have to sit outside to enjoy your hot meal.

But don’t let that stop you. We enjoyed it so much, we already went back for more today w the family. (Have to update the review with more pictures and videos of our food selections)

Definitely worth a stop and try out if your in the area.

“Absolute favorite Thai spot now. The flavors come to life so well! I’ve had Nara for takeout a few times before and it was so good we just had to dine-in to get the full experience. The staff is really sweet and great at suggesting items based on what we mentioned. There are plenty of veg options that are spectacular - eggplant tofu, pad ka prow tofu, green curry and basil fried rice are a few we’ve had so far. Highly recommend to anyone seeking delicious Thai food.

Tried a few of their signature dishes: the Coconut Milk Soup, Shrimp Red Curry, and Beef Pad Kee Mai (add spicy if you like spicy). We ordered the Yellow and Red Curry and they were so delicious. Most importantly, the owners are were so friendly and helpful. Delivery time was always spot on.

“We have Angry Mom's Kitchen as a rotating pop-up rest at our office. I don't normally visit the pop-ups but when Angry Mom's is our pop-up I'm guaranteed to place an order. The portions are just right. Just enough for lunch. My fav is the crispy chicken.“
