A great restaurant in the tiny town of Blanco. All the food we tried was cooked to perfection. I had the chicken fried steak with mash and glazed carrots. My wife had the fried brie and grape salad with a soup. Would eat here any day! Service was awesome and friendly. The building inside is beautiful.

Food was delicious and good service.
Uptown Blanco is an absolute serendipity. We happened onto it after leaving San Marcos late and heading home to Horseshoe Bay. Starving, we would have settled for most anything. However, we found the Uptown Blanco Restaurant open for business at 8:10 on a Tuesday night. Even though it was late, we were treated to a very warm welcome. We started with the polenta bites, bite-size steaks on a little pillows of polenta, yum. We moved onto the cheese board. Resting on a bed of arugula were brie, balsamic-drizzled fresh mozzarella and a pile of blue cheese. They were adorned with a large rosette of prosciutto, dried apricots and cookie croutons, and all served with fresh, warm flat bread. Both appetizers were delicious and beautifully presented. We could have stopped there and been very satisfied, but no. We shared the chicken fried steak (tender with a crispy crust), mashed potatoes with a savory cream gravy, and yummy glazed carrots. And since it was on the menu, we had to try the crème brulee, with glasses of port and sauterne. The perfect finish to a extraordinary dinner. The food was definitely great, but the additional surprises were the handsome dining room and warm, attentive service. The owners have maintained what they could, then restored what had been lost of the original 1880 building: one of the most spacious, handsome dining rooms I have had the pleasure to enjoy. Although we had come in late, on a Tuesday night, the staff was warm and attentive. They insisted we stay as long as we wanted to linger, and we did. Both the manager and chef visited our table, and our waitress took the time to show us around the rest of the facilities: a spacious courtyard with the original stone Blanco jail and an old hotel behind the building. Uptown Blanco rivals our favorite restaurants in Houston. We’ll be back, often.
We were staying in Blanco and wanted to have a nice dinner. The atmosphere, service and food were all very good
We had a rehearsal dinner at Uptown and had a wonderful time. The chef went above and beyond expectations and the staff were fabulous.
Enjoyed a lovely meal during an overnight stay in Blanco. Our waitress was attentive, great food and good wine list.
Very Good Food and Service. Upscale, elegant, mellow atmosphere. The shrimp kabob was excellent. Meatloaf very good. It was very lean. The sauce was the best part, Slightly sweet, almost Asian, quite complimentary. The grilled vegetables were still a bit crisp. Cheesecake was Cake, not the creamy New York style. It was good. The flavor was mild. The port desert wine was also very good. Nice people. We will be back.
Great comfort food and reasonable prices
We chose Uptown Blanco Restaurant for our son’s wedding rehearsal dinner. The private room in the back was perfect for our group. Moses was great to work with on all of the planning. Everyone enjoyed the great dining.

The restaurant is very nice in appearance, rather upscale for the area. I ordered the shrimp BBQ on slaw started. The shrimp were under cooked and it cost $15 for the five shrimp started. My wife ordered the crab cake started for $18. There were three medium cakes. For entrees I ordered the lamb shank. Good but not worth the $22. My wife had the grilled salmon. It was over done. Both entrees came with the same sauce on the side. Total bill after 18% tip was $104. And we did not have wine, drinks other than water, not any desert. Way too expensive for this quality of food.
Excellent food and service !
GREAT food....consistently! BEST Eggs Benedict around by far!
The food is awesome! I would try something else but I can’t keep from ordering the chicken fried steak.
Service was awesome and food was amazing!! The ribeye was one of the best I've ever eaten. I have high standards, my Dad owned a steakhouse. The goat cheese appetizer is a must try!! If your in Blanco, Uptown is the place to eat!!
