A real 2 person operation. There menu is on a chalkboard...conveniently without prices. We'll we ordered 2 slice beef sandwiches at $9 each. They were junior sized. Tea was $3 each...you serve it yourself... The final cou de gras was a credit card surcharge of 4% (which by the way is illegal for merchants to add in Texas...Texas doesn't enforce this law... Do yourself a favor...step on the gas when you see this restaurant.

After enjoying the quilt store, I asked for a local recommendation and was sent here. I almost missed the spot; I am so glad I didn't. The small, stand-alone cafe is an aged building that has served different roles over many years. The staff was so friendly, helpful, and eager to help make my visit successful. The homemade special, King Ranch casserole, hit the spot and the barbecued burger was delicious. The conversation kept us entertained and we enjoyed our time with staff and locals. Not fancy, just serving home style dishes. You won't be hungry long, the portions are heaping, and food is served relatively quick. Scoop some ice, the sweet tea is there for the refills while you visit with others fortunate to make it by for a snack, a drink, a meal, or a yummy dessert. It is a small-town country cafe with good food and friendly folks serving and eating, enjoying time in Blessing. I'll be back.

Local BBQ joint with a few tables; nothing fancy. Wonderful proprietor who explained they only sell plates, not by the pound, so they don't run out too soon. Fine chopped wet cole slaw, good pinto beans with bacon, brisket was tender, sausage was mild, and sauce was sweet. If you need a BBQ fix and you're in the area, stop by and try it
