After enjoying the quilt store, I asked for a local recommendation and was sent here. I almost missed the spot; I am so glad I didn't. The small, stand-alone cafe is an aged building that has served different roles over many years. The staff was so friendly, helpful, and eager to help make my visit successful. The homemade special, King Ranch casserole, hit the spot and the barbecued burger was delicious. The conversation kept us entertained and we enjoyed our time with staff...
Local BBQ joint with a few tables; nothing fancy. Wonderful proprietor who explained they only sell plates, not by the pound, so they don't run out too soon. Fine chopped wet cole slaw, good pinto beans with bacon, brisket was tender, sausage was mild, and sauce was sweet. If you need a BBQ fix and you're in the area, stop by and try it
