The service is impeccable with staff that look for opportunities to assist. Had the lean brisket, garlic sausage and jalapeño/cheese sausage. All were “Texas approved” and the truffle fries, beans, Mac & cheese were all good. Enjoyed the homemade pickles and pickled onions. Another “must” in the hill country.

The quality of the brisket and pork ribs was excellent (and we are picky :-). Very good slaw and the truffle fries are out of this world!
Delicious food, and brisket that my husband deemed was the “best he’s ever eaten”! A tad pricey, but inflation is likely to blame, and honestly it was worth the cost!

Visiting family in Texas from Philadelphia….. love me some roadside BBQ. Wife and I were heading to do a distillery tour and passed Black Board…. It was a quick and easy decision to bust a U turn and have lunch here. Staff is very friendly and helpful, food is absolutely AMAZING! The inside of the establishment is warm and inviting and the decor works perfectly. So glad we stopped here and had lunch! This will definitely be a destination when we come back!

Finally, I had the opportunity to stop by and give this remote location a try; I will admit it was an interesting take on some classic items.The truffle fries and lemonade were some of the best in Texas. However, the burnt ends were a bit on the fatty side, and the quail lollipops were interesting but definitely not for everyone. Overall, the combination of food, service, and atmosphere makes this a good option for good eats if in the ares.

Why charge 1.25 for fixings? It should be included with the food we’re paying. For the Lady who rung me up I thought was rude or didn’t want to deal with customers and or racist I will not be coming back

The pulled pork and fries were OK. O had to dress it up quite a bit. They definitely charge way too much for the fries. You can't just put shredded cheese on fries and call it truffle fries ?. Not worth $8.Also, you shouldn't charge extra for jalapeños, pickles, and onions. Isn't it supposedly a BBQ joint!? And, you can keep your bread.The lady at the register was a bit off-putting - not quite rude but not nice either. And it's too smokey to sit inside, and they don't have much shaded outdoor seating.
