Came by on a Thursday evening and they were closed completely.
If you have not been here, you are missing out. The food is awesome, the atmosphere great. They make their sangria in house. Live music, I mean who doesn't like Live music. Get here and give it a try.

Only ones there, cold, loud music, didn’t know if they had beer, no beer, water was bad tasting, glass smelled also. Left! No thank you!!!
This place is pretty disgusting unfortunately. There was some kind of thick slimy stuff in my beer from the tap and the bathroom had a few roaches crawling around. The bathroom is right next to the kitchen so you know they probably got a bunch of roaches in the kitchen too. I also tripped on a wood board sticking up from the ground in the patio area. That seems pretty dangerous if someone were to trip and hit their head on a table or the corner of the stage area etc. Definitely a bad experience.

This place was terrible! I can’t believe how rude everyone was here! The food was absolutely terrible, and the service was terrible.
No thought at all to giving the customers a good experience while there.
Rude, just so rude.
If you want to support anyone else business wise I suggest to go to The Creek or Cypress Grill (their service and food are outstanding) rather than wasting time or money here.
My husband and I decided to try out this place since we are going to Spain for our 25th anniversary in 2026. Wanted to get a feel for a Spanish Tapas bar. El Botero did not disappoint, everything was very delicious. They were only out of one item (apparently this happens occasionally because they do not make bulk items. Everything is made to order) so hopefully we’ll try that next time. We shared seven different items from the menu… The scallop ceviche was our favorite! I did not get photos of everything because we just dug right in without thinking about this review…
We enjoyed a really nice bottle of Tempranillo from Rioja. Our server was very attentive and a delight to interact with. We went early around 5:30PM so it wasn’t too busy…they have indoor and outdoor seating. We chose a small indoor table for the two of us.
It was not too noisy, they were playing some Spanish music that could have been turned down, just a tad, but it wasn’t so loud we couldn’t talk to each other
They also have free parking on site but you have to look for the blue signs that don’t require you pay to park.

Restaurant was closed during times it was supposed to be open - no response via text (which voicemail said for best response), email, or social media message for the inconvenience. Wine list is short & menu wasn’t accurate to their changes. No care for their customers it feels :/
Unfortunately we had a bit of a lackluster time compared to other reviews. The pulpo a la gallega came without potatoes, despite the ingredient being mentioned on the menu. The octopus component was tasty if a bit underserved. The oil it was served in made for a great bread dipping experience, though you get only 2 slices of baguette to accompany your, roughly, 1.5 ounces of octopus. We also had the Coca Jamon Serrano. The bread was good. The onions needed more time in the pan and we received more balsamic reduction drizzle on the serving platter than on the flatbread itself. The house Alabarino was tasty and I would recommend the Coral do Mar to anyone. The French Kronenburg 1664 beer was served a bit warm. Unfortunately a miss overall but service was friendly and prompt. I'm open to try it another time, perhaps on a busier day when the kitchen is firing on a few more cylinders, so to speak.

Anytime I spot Spanish food, it’s a must for me! I love getting to taste and experience the different techniques of a flavorful paella served in a sizzling pan… wow. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to try the paella this time, but I was definitely not disappointed with my choices.
We started with the buñuelos de bacalao—so fluffy and delicious, especially with the spicy aioli. Then we tried the chef’s choice empanadas: one filled with pork (I think!) and the other with bacalao, both paired perfectly with a side of cilantro sauce. Let’s just say our before-and-after photos tell the full story!
They also have live music from time to time, which makes me even more excited to come back. Overall, the food and ambiance were a 10/10—a true must-visit in Boerne!

I love the lavender margarita. The piece of lavender in the glass makes it so nice.. I was a little despondent when I didn’t get it, we went last time. The It was very good like always. We drive all the way from converse, Tx

We should’ve known better. As soon as we walked in on a Saturday evening and the place was empty. There was only one other couple and they kept saying they’ve run out of everything. How does a wine and tapas bar run out of wine, sangria and half a dozen other things? Very disappointing.

Delicious tapas food with wide variety of authentic options to share
This is a great spot for happy hour! I wish their menu was more allergy friendly, but what I have had there was delicious and my server was super friendly and fun. The back patio is so nice to sit outside!
