We ate there today, met some of the family there and spent 2 1/2 hours talking about any and everything family related. The staff never asked us to hurry so we were glad about that. Now the food, I had the special meat loaf. It wasn't like "what mama made" but is was good. The Mac and Cheese was average and the fried okra was a little under cooked. My wife's fried chicken was to her liking as were the potatoes and broccoli. Free fill ups for your choice of drinks. Wait time for our food was about 10 minutes. You order at the entrance, pay and the staff brings your food to your table. I will probably not make this a favorite cafe and return at any time in the future. I would just rate the place and the food as average for a gas station cafe.

Kept seeing billboards for this place and the online menu sounded great so we decided to stop the morning we left Boerne to return to Houston. Parked and got both toddlers out of their car seats, brought them inside and got in line. I ended up going to a table while my mom waited to order food, only to find out there was something wrong with their system, and thus they refused to take any orders or ring anyone up. This place looks like a diner out of legend, the decor is adorable and profoundly Texan, and everything looks like it probably did back in the 70s, so I found it pretty baffling that they had no contingency plan for ringing people up the old-fashioned way. We had to haul my hungry kids back to the car and just did what-a-burger instead. Really disappointed that a place which advertised with so many billboards could be so unprofessional. Will not be returning, even if their biscuits and gravy did sound amazing.

So I stopped to buy a club sandwich and I asked if I can substitute the fries for a baked potato and the guy said they couldn’t and would need to charge me $4 and some change for it plus what the plate of club sandwich with fries cost which was $11.47 with tax. I think that’s ridiculous! It’s literally the same thing fries are probably more than one potato. They’ve lost a customer. I love the sandwiches but that’s just taking advantage! Never again will I stop there!

Great old fashioned cafe. Pancakes were the best I’ve had in years. If you are looking for fancy this is not the place very basic. Awesome old style eating!

This place is just a constant let down. Every time I try to go something happens. Tried to give it another chance, but their cook didn’t show up, so it was gonna be 20 minutes before I could get food. No one cares about anything!!

The cheeseburger was really good. The onion rings are breaded fresh at the café. I would definitely eat at flagstop café again.

Be aware they don't have a full menu after 6:30. They only have burgers. I did not see this posted anywhere and they still had the dinner specials listed when I went inside. They are open to 8:30 but with a limited menu.

Went to the car wash located behind Flag Stop Cafe and had a bit of an issue (my fault-drove in too much). Mr. Rawley quickly came over and reset the car wash, got me set up properly and made sure I’d come back by providing me with a free car wash. He didn’t have to do this - helping me get me car washed was enough but DEFINITELY appreciate him going above and beyond and providing the EXCELLENT customer service! Making this car wash my “go to” from now on. Thank you!!!!

I had wanted to stop at this café for sometime now, typically driving from Kerrville down to San Antonio and specifically to the airport. I was not disappointed in terms of the price in the meal I got. $10.99 got me a platter with a very good chicken fried steak and gravy, mashed potatoes and green beans. Drink included. The one thing lacking was the two hush puppies: they were a little bit sweet to my liking. Other than that, very simple environment. Quick and polite service.

This place was awful. As soon as I walked in I smelled a greasy stench fly at my face. I ordered a burger and just brushed it off. When the burger came the meat was half cooked. I don't recommend this place.
