I had the roast duck-wasn’t sure if I’d like it but it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The skin was crispy, not fatty, meat tender and the side dishes were all delicious too. We ate around 5pm so not busy then. Waiter refilled our drinks, was attentive and again, the food outstanding.

We couldn't love this venue more. The food is excellent. They have a patio with great service, and pricing is very affordable. We highly recommend it!

1/13/23 Update: gave them a second chance and they did not disappoint! Absolutely delicious and great hospitality! This time I give them a 5 (was originally a 1).(Original review) Wrong answer. I asked if they would make me a schnitzel (breaded pork tenderloin) sandwich since they had schnitzel on the menu. After the server checked with the kitchen, the answer was a blunt “we don’t do that”.

My Kolache Benedict brought me right back to the old country of Hungary, and the new-old country of New Prague Minnesota with the delicious Jalapeño Kiolbasa sausage. My wife’s Czech roots drew her to this breakfast oasis on our tour of west Texas on our way to New Mexico and we couldn’t have been more pleased.

This place is excellent! I didn't come here for a while because other restaurants have better reviews, but this place deserves 5 stars. The service and food and atmosphere were all wonderful!

If you want some really excellent German food while you're in Boerne TX, I highly recommend Little Gretal Restaurant. The local charm and service compliments an already great menu. The food was hearty and fresh just like oma used to make.Check hours of operation since the had just opened up for dinner as I arrived. Good timing!

Sat on the patio & enjoyed the view of the river. Food & service were good. Waiter recommended Rahm Schnitzel instead of Jaeger Schnitzel when I mentioned I didn't care for mushrooms. I liked the creamy white sauce better.

Went there for first time and had a bad experience We both had venison schnitzel and ice tea Venison was the special all schnitzels on the menu were $22 Got the check it was $99 were charged $2.50 each for sauce Schnitzel was crispy on the top but soggy on the bottom We will not be back trust issues

If you live in Central Texas, then you have to visit Little Gretel. Traditional Czech cuisine with a hill country flair. We are there almost every weekend for the best pancakes I’ve ever had! I don’t work for them or the Chamber of Commerce. I just love good food and good people. Lani and Walter are the best - tell them Jake sent you!

We always enjoy going to Little Gretel when we travel to Boerne, Texas to visit our daughter and her family. Food and service are always great. We usually go for breakfast. This time, I upgraded to the fruit and cheese kolache and was glad I did. Warm, fresh and delicious! When the weather is good, I recommend sitting out on the patio and looking out toward the river (even with the roadway in between).

I ordered the jaeger schnitzel and the flavor was incredible! My friend ordered the kolaches and he also enjoyed them! We will definitely be back!!

Had the kolaches! Absolutely delicious! The jalapeño one really packed a punch! Can't wait to go again for breakfast!

Great taste of Germany/Czechoslovakia in the Texas Hill Country. We had just returned from Europe so to eat good sausage and kolaches was a sweet reminder of our trip.
