Always loved this place, but we pulled up at noon and thought they were closed because nobody was there. Reason? Food is just not up to par. I had chicken fried steak and it was so tough. Everyone else was disappointed, too.Sad.

We absolutely love Pope's! We held our mom's 85th birthday dinner there & everything was phenomenal. Every attendee raved about the service, food, and eclectic atmosphere. Our server, Diane, was terrific! She was attentive, accommodating, and her fun personality added to the party. My mom felt so special. Grateful to all of the Pope's staff!

Thank you for the wonderful meal but more importantly the friendly genuine greeting when we walked in the door!! Made our experience that much more enjoyable!! The portions were just the right size and very well seasoned. My brother loved his ribeye and raved about it. My son loved his steak fries and my Mom and I both enjoyed our Chicken Fried Steaks. I really wish we could have tried the cobbler but were too full as it was! Next time we drive through we will stop again. Thank you!

Have been coming here since I was a kid in the 80s and after tonight I doubt I'll ever be back! Maybe it should have been a clue when there was only one other table seated at dinner time at one of the few restaurants open in this area on a Monday night. Once I looked at the very condensed menu and saw their new pricing I couldn't get past that to anything else. Salad is no longer a side option unless you pay a $2 upcharge which I wouldn't mind but when you're paying $29.99 for 2 pieces of catfish IT BOTHERS ME. Three entrees and 3 iced teas (no appetizers, no alcohol, etc.) came to just under $100....That's insane and the food Def not worth the price. It actually seems as if they have lowered the quality of food yet raised prices most by almost 2 times the previous price!

This is such a fun stop while on the road. All the walls are covered in plates and there are so many interesting ones. We had breakfast. The service was good and fast. The food was stellar. We tried the chicken fried steak combo and malted waffle combo. Both dishes we’d have again. The waffle was crisp and the malted flavor added dimension. The chicken fried steak was tender and came with a tasty sausage gravy. Definitely a must try!

Have attended this establishment for at least 30 years with family and friends and had always enjoyed it until the last 4 or 5 years and each time within that last few years it just continues to become worse and disappointing, food was very disappointing to put it mildly, I will never return again after this last visit on Feb. 20 2024
