Shang Hai Chinese Restaurant

Ordered the 5 spice shrimp and got 8 friend shrimp with 3lbs of onions. I usually get this dish and it's decent, dude went crazy with the onions today. Makes me wonder what they're trying to hide with all those onions. Dissatisfied

Parts of our order are often incomplete. Finally I called to ask for a refund and after 15 min of not understanding what anyone was saying, I was offered a $5 refund for our rice order. We have been back and forth with Chinese restaurants in Boerne. Tonight was our last time here.

Love the hot and sour soup and egg rolls. Food is always consistent, nice atmosphere and great service. And I can get a good Glass of Chardonnay

We stopped by at 8:45pm on a Saturday night and it looked like they were closing because half of the restaurant’s chairs were flipped up on the tables. But we were told they are open till 10pm. So we sat and got great service from a cute older lady. The food was solid, not the best Chinese food we’ve had but we’d stop by again if we were in the neighborhood.

Probably the most disappointing Chinese food I’ve ever experienced - we got two combination plates with sweet and sour chicken/garlic chicken and sweet and sour pork/peppers beef. It was outside the garlic chicken- horrible. The chicken was overcooked and tough, the pork small and sad as if they scraped the bottom of the bin to give us what was left. The peppered beef was slimy and more sauce and vegetables than beef. Almost like a terrible Asian stew 🤢🤮 The fried rice was just yellow rice with bland flavor. Only the soup was good. In fact the soup was the star of the entire sad show.

I kid you not, it was a MASSIVE disappointment and whoever is leaving these 5 star reviews should have their accounts banned. I’m telling you guys- be forewarned. By far the worst $34 I ever spent!

We found this place by accident. The restaurant we attempted to go to was closed . We were pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious and the service top notch . Warm inviting atmosphere

No favor to the food and the vegetables were hard, also sour broccoli, I'm sorry I'm not going back to the restaurant.
