Good pizza. Lousy service. Be prepared to wait well beyond promised ready time.

Loved finding this hidden jewel. The crust was baked to perfection, the sauce was delicious and the toppings were generous portions. Go find your favorite pizza at Z's.Dietary restrictions: They are not gluten friendly.

My wife and I always have a fabulous visit, and the pizza and appetizers are delicious. The people who work there are very nice and patient.

The pizza was excellent! The crust wasn't too thick & there were plenty of toppings. It was a quaint building & provided a neat atmosphere & the staff were all extremely friendly. We will definitely be going back!

Probably the best place we've been to in Texas! My wife and I came for the Eclipses all the way from California. The server and staff were wonderful and made us feel welcome. Coming from California's rat race pace, their cool and laid back atmosphere was just what we were looking for. The music remained me that movie "Dazed and Confused". Definitely the place where the cool kids hang out. And the pizza and salad were delicious! We had the Supremo and the spinach and pear salad. We loved it! We ate it all up! Didn't even need a to go box. Lol. The crust was soft and tasty. Might have to use a fork for the first bit but by the time you get close to the crust you can pick it up and dip it in their house made ranch dressing. The salad was wonderful as well. They say you don't make friends with salad but this place sure does.Thank you for the very cool experience and making us feel welcome, Z's Wood Fired Pizza!

Came here on a Sunday evening with my husband and 2 kiddos, age 5 and 18 months. We came specifically to this pizza place versus the other wood fired pizza place in town, because the food pictures from this restaurant looked more appetizing (we have not gone to either of these establishments prior to this review). Also, we read that there was a kids playground (and it’s advertised as having one on their outdoor signage), so that was a big plus since we have very active children. The other place has a playground too, so we figured either option would be fine, but that didn’t end up being the case. When we first walked in, all the employees were huddled up at the register, talking amongst one another. Which is fine if it’s slow, but proved later to be an issue, because this made the employees very slow to do their jobs despite it not being too busy that night. We asked to sit outside because we wanted to utilize the playground, but when we walked outside, there was no playground. The host explained that it had been taken down due to a child getting injured- which is understandable, but a bit annoying since that was half the reason why we came. So if you are reading this review, note that in March 2024, the playground is no longer there. The outdoor area itself was very interesting, it was like they were trying to be cool and have a certain aesthetic and vibe, but just seemed random. They did have a cornhole game, so that helped my kids stay entertained during the wait, but the wait was ridiculous. There were maybe 4 different groups of people outside eating, and 2-3 inside whenever we were there. It probably took an hour to get our food and then we practically had to beg the waitress for our check at the end so we could leave. The food was mediocre and burnt, so that was frustrating as well. Just a disappointing experience, when there are so many other options in Boerne with the same, if not better, vibe.

I'm never ordering from this place again. I ordered two pizzas and both had no sauce, which was never a part of my order. It tasted nasty and it was expensive. Gourmet pizza? I didn't know gourmet pizza excluded sauce. Domino's pizza and also South Flo pizza at HEB were the last two pizza joints I ordered from and there were no comparisons. They were so much better in my opinion.

The pizza was great! No complaints about that. Menu looks awesome, you want everything on it. It's a busy place that seems very popular. Food took a while to come out. The salads come flying out but everyone's pizzas took a while.

I have been ordering from Z’s for over 7 years and have been a raving fan. However, my last few orders were about $20 more than normal and just weren’t the same quality that I have grown to love. The new $45 price for the Sebastian, which is only available once a year, was disappointing. With that much of an increase I was hoping for more toppings. The garlic Parmesan bread was burnt and my 12-year-old who the order was for didn’t enjoy it as much as she used to. I’m not giving a lower rating due to my many more positive experiences in the past.

We have been here a handful of times and the service seems to keep getting slower each time. Additionally, servers just do not seem to be very attentive. This time we were quoted 45 minutes for our pizza and it took 1 hour and 20 minutes. That’s a long time when you have kids. I totally understand being busy, but it seems to take longer each time and it was far off from the estimate. Also, there seemed to be no care for the fact that we had waited so long. Additionally, I realize playscapes are play at your own risk; however the one on the property is not safe at all. My kids have been on it plenty of times however, this time, the deck on top was no longer fully enclosed and my 5 year old daughter fell through a large square hole on the top that she was not expecting. It was a horrible fall and very scary. She is okay, but there should be some type of signage or warning signs. Another family agreed that this hole was not there before. I am grateful that this is a family friendly restaurant, but this playscape is not suited for super young children and just feels really unsafe.
