Excellent breakfast!!
All the food was good except my cheese burger. The meat had a strange taste to it. Not sure why or how to explain the taste. I don't think it was old beef, not sure if it was beef at all, maybe soybean product. Other wise all was good.
The Wife and I went here 2 years ago for our anniversary. To say it was disappointing would be an understatement!!! We took a chance that maybe something had changed. Boy, were we right. It was 100% better. The staff was awesome and friendly, the drinks were good and the food was incredible. The new management can take a bow for getting them back on track! 10 out of 10, would highly recommend!
it's nice people are even better
For the love of God, do Not go here if you intend on eating. The waitress expects your order before you open the menu, kitchen staff brings your food and waitress doesn't come back until your almost done ( regardless if you're out of beverage). Food is disgusting and waitress is useless. Only good point was kitchen staff that brought food.
I was having lunch today at Bennigains in Borger TX with some friends I have not seen in a while. They live in border and we were on vacation traveling through.
One friend ordered the Hawaiian chicken but when her order came it was something totally different. Due time constraints she said she would keep it but it was not what she ordered. At the end of the meal she was charge full price of the meal that she did not order. She asked if there was anything Bennigains could do. The Manager would only cut her bill bill by 10%. She asked if they could do more to correct the error but the manager said she could not. Manager said it was a lunch time and they were busy the waitress was new and had only been there 2 weeks. There were only 6 other tables of 2 people there besides ours for the lunch rush. Not real sure what the manager meant by busy. I felt Bennigans was only doing the bare minimum for a mistake they had made. She should have been give 25 to 50% off her meal.
I ordered the Danny Boy Chicken and the chicken was very dry and over cooked. The mashed potatoes did not taste that great and were cold. I also ordered the Fried Zucchini and thought it was very good. I never got a refill on my drink until time to pay the check even though my glasses sat empty for over half the time we were there. I had to hold the glass in the air to get the waitress attention. My spouse was the only other person who got a refill only because she asked. I am very disappointed in the food and service at this Bennigians and will not be returning.i am sorry to say Bennigians has lost not just 1 customer today but 3. Bennigians needs to try a little harder to provide good service their customers.
Chicken was greasy and overcooked and made with canned mushrooms. The hamburger did not even have the glaze or condiments as described, in a restaurant where dinner cost $70 I received a mayonnaise and mustard packet for my condiments. The fries were cold and the bacon for the hamburger was still raw, requested medium rare and received well done dry burger.
We ordered Mojitos, they were out of mint, we attempted to drink them as they were brought to the table without even telling us they were out of mint until after the fact, they were entirely too sweet and sugary and we left them unfinished.
We did not finish any of the food ordered and went to McDonalds for better quality.
I was traveling looking for a bar. They have a surprisingly good selection of bourbon considering where I was. There wasn't a large selection of beers on tap, but a good bar nonetheless.
I had their version of bang-bang shrimp and I went back again to have it, so it wasn't bad, but the food wasn't something I told the rest of my project team about. To me, it's just a restaurant that had a bar. I did go twice when I was in Borger, so that should say something.
It kinda reminded me of an O'Charleys if that helps. It's definitely a needed restaurant for Borger!
Let me paint you a picture—
Imagine a breakfast so ambitious it should come with a waiver. I’m talkin’ two pancakes, two sunny-side eggs, two scrambled, two strips of bacon, two sausages, ham, grits, toast... basically a cholesterol seminar on a plate. I tackled that mountain of food not once, but twice—once solo, and the second time with my wife and a coworker who, bless his heart, looked at my plate like he just witnessed a crime scene.
Now Bennigan’s, despite sounding like a mid-tier Irish pub off a freeway exit in Cleveland, manages to pull off this weird hybrid vibe—clean and spacious like a corporate chain, but with just enough small-town Texas charm to keep you from checking your GPS to see if you wandered into an Applebee’s.
Let’s break it down:
Eggs? Solid. Sunny-side looked like they posed for a food magazine, scrambled were fluffy like grandma’s pillows.
Bacon? A little too crispy—like if bacon had a midlife crisis and bought a Harley. But still good.
Sausage, ham, grits? No complaints there—classic, hearty, no-frills.
Pancakes? Ahh, the betrayal. They looked gorgeous—fluffy, golden, like something out of a syrup commercial—but try to pick ‘em up and they disintegrated like my last relationship. Mushy, soft, fell apart like a soap opera character under cross-examination. Huge letdown.
Still, in a town where pancake choices are about as rare as a cold front in July, Bennigan’s holds its ground. It’s not groundbreaking, it’s not brunch with a view, but it’s dependable—like that one uncle who always shows up with gas station donuts and bad advice.
I was here on a business trip and hadn’t seen Bennigan’s in ages. I stopped by for a Turkey O’tool.
I got what I came for. Hot food served quick by friendly folks.

We drove 50 miles to eat there. When we were seated at 11:00, we were given breakfast menu and drink order was not taken. We had to get waitress attention and request lunch menu. Then, we waited 25 minutes and nobody ever came to take our drink or food order. They were not overly busy. We finally just left after being there over 30 minutes and nobody noticed. Disappointing.
Servers hanging around drinking redbull not attentive. Table is dirty asked for it to be wiped down twice ended up walking in the back and getting the rag and doing it myself. Trash bad on all 3 levels don't come here.

Got the The World Famous Monte Cristo it was burned. In my opinion it didn't live up to the sandwich that they apparently had a year ago. Also got the loaded fries half cold half hot. The shrimp Sriracha was the best thing and the sweet tea. Our server was nice, friendly, and courteous. Thank you young lady.( Aaliyah)
