This place had welcoming and friendly staff, the food was hot and fresh. The brisket was moist and all the sides were made from scratch. We had ordered Papa John’s a day before and paid $40 for a cold pizza and wings when we should have came here! We only paid $59 for 3 plates with drinks and the meals were so big we had leftovers! Definitely coming back!

For starters, there are no prices on the menu.🤔 We had to stare at it on the wall and ask about prices because I’m not rich and don’t like price surprises . A cranky older white lady rattled the prices off to us and seemed aggravated about doing it. I was feeling a little uneasy about the whole experience but settled on the three meat plate just to get a sample of a few things. The potato salad, baked beans and mac & cheese were average, but the barbecue sauce tasted like Worcestershire sauce and ketchup. There was no smoky hickory or Mesquite flavor in the meat. It was just bland! They have a perfect location on a corner off the interstate attached to a gas station, but it was a disappointing experience.

NO! Just No! The only menu is on the wall. It doesn’t have any prices on it??? It’s a problem when you have to try to shame or trick people into purchasing your food. We expected at least a hickory or mesquite flavor. BLAND but tender! Sauce tastes like Worcestershire and ketchup. More fat than meat on the brisket. Flavorless macaroni and cheese. I feel like we got hustled! SMH

So I have been stopping here for years cause Nathan was always nice and I got the bbq pork chops which were amazing: BUT this last visit was not so good. The staff behind food counter was arguing with each other; not polite to guests at all and they don’t have pork chops everyday anymore. The cashier lady was also rude.

Took JoAnn & Nancy to Prarie Lea Cemetery in Brenham, TX. My mother Maybelline was buried 7.88. She is buried alongside her parents, Alex & Josephine plus Aunt Rose.
Our first time here after passing by for years. Food is good but let me tell you the customer service is beyond unacceptable. Since it was our first time, we were a little lost. We started in the food line, opened two bottles of beers and were told we have to place our To-go order at the register. That is where we went, the main lady looked at us, pointed her fingers and yelled you two stay right there. Do not cross the line to the store and continued serving her customer. We were so confused but luckily another employee came over, apologized for the behavior and told us that the liquor license in the store is different .. literally that simple .. what was the need to point your fingers and yell when that is all you had to tell us.
We continued to check out with the friendly server and asked her if it was okay for us to finish the beer out on the patio and she said of course.
Granted the one to go order took forever, once we got the order we just wanted to go outside to recover from that terrible main lady. We said thank you, grabbed our To-go order and walked to the door. I kid you not, that rude lady yelled again, “excuse me, where are yall going with that beer.” I am of same race and I have never been spoken to like this in my entire life! I was so embarrassed. Perhaps she was like this because my husband is not???
You can sell the best food in the state and I would never come back!!! We are spreading the word! That woman should not work in customer service!!! What a disgrace !!!

Our first time here after passing by for years. Food is good but let me tell you the customer service is beyond unacceptable. Since it was our first time, we were a little lost. We started in the food line, opened two bottles of beers and were told we have to place our To-go order at the register. That is where we went, the main lady looked at us, pointed her fingers and yelled you two stay right there. Do not cross the line to the store and continued serving her customer. We were so confused but luckily another employee came over, apologized for the behavior and told us that the liquor license in the store is different .. literally that simple .. what was the need to point your fingers and yell when that is all you had to tell us.
We continued to check out with the friendly server and asked her if it was okay for us to finish the beer out on the patio and she said of course.

Ordered loaded baked potato and 2 meat plate with 1 rib. Baked potato was soft but brisket given in it was pure fat. Could not even swallow a single piece. Would not recommend. Brisket was grey and lacked flavor and smoke ring. Sausage was pale and no flavor. Pinto beans were hard and undercooked. Would not recommend at all!! Not worth the the $45.
