“What a delicious treasure this is. EVERYTHING we ordered was cooked to perfection. I ordered the Eggplant Parmesan which was out-of-this-world (a specialty?); grilled garlic bread; cabaret Sauvignon, garlic spinach; and their freshly made teramisu with AMAZING coffee! We left no crumbs behind. The ambiance was quaint and romantic. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and gracious. We even had a personal visit with owners Chef Brian and Gretchen Brossa to make sure we loved every bite! I can’t think of enough good things to say. What a premier dining experience you have right here in Brenham, Texas. I give them 10 Stars out of 10: Clean bathrooms, professional, friendly and knowledgeable staff, beautiful and comfortable furnishings, relaxing atmosphere (sitting out on the porch while sipping my beverage), and best of all … my priority in selecting any dining experience … is every table is adorned with fresh linens. I can’t wait to come back for lunch!”

“Wow! We had sliced brisket sandwiches for lunch today (Brenham location) and they were by far the best we’ve ever had anywhere! Don’t know why anyone would put bbq sauce on it! Even the potato salad was excellent! There was a line when we got there but I expect that with any good restaurant. We have tried bbq in all parts of TX and this was by far THE BEST! We’ll be back!”

“A long-awaited trip to The Tilted Windmill proved satisfying and interesting. The building is worth the trip...beautiful bar! Our order was taken by Charlie, who let us know she had made her mom's turkey and dumplings (with added peppercorns). That proved too much to resist and we weren't disappointed. I also enjoyed the White Wolf coffee, a huge mug that included shots of white chocolate mocha and Irish cream. Yum!!

Charlie was a delight and she definitely catered to customers, working to keep this establishment's clientele satisfied and happy. You would have thought she was the owner! Matthew, who served our food and cleared tables (and maybe even fulfilled orders), was also very friendly and helpful. In addition, they have about 100 varieties of tea! If you're considering, definitely try The Tilted Windmill. Allow plenty of time because this place is busy, and you'll want to take time to study the tea menu.”

“Great place to take your family very informative and you can see how they make the ice cream. Took my boys there on our way from Waco and they loved it. We tried their different flavors of ice cream for a dollar. Great way to better understand how Blue Bell is such an icon to the Texas. They also have a separate building where you can see their history overall a fun place to experience. They also have their blue bell hats don’t forget to grab those.”

“I've been a customer for a long time and love everything I have tried! My absolute favorite is the red velvet pudding! Today I was craving cheesecake and wow, how have I missed it! I got the biscotti cheesecake and it was amazing! A huge piece, rich but not too, so good!!!! Of course I got some pudding for tomorrow! This place is a must try!”

“Best burgers/burger deals around. These patties looked like they were hand pressed this morning, ordered a double cheeseburger for an unheard-of 5.50 iirc. The patties looked like half pound patties, burger tasted amazing, chocolate malt was amazing, and the atmosphere was amazing. I've worked fast food for a number of years, and to see the workers laughing and playing around despite having a line that pours out onto the feeder and never dies down(I was in store for 30 minutes the line never died down) didn't have them in a bad mood either. 10/10 will be back again with friends”

“My rating is for the fairly good snowcones and the variety of Bluebell ice cream flavors offered. I'd been going there a lot since we enjoy the snowcones and ice cream. But the kids, especially one Hispanic female worker, in particular, started being very rude. She is the main reason I don't like going here anymore. I tried to get her to stop and explain that I wasn't complaining, but she kept being insistent. Then, she makes a derogatory comment about me to one of the other boys, and they both laugh. And now that's the case every time I visit here, just unprofessional and unbecoming of a popular little spot in our little town. Other than that, this is not a bad place at all. They have tons of other selling items that are cute to window shop for.”

“The food at this restaurant is very good to the point I eat there at least once a week and unlike other restaurants in Brenham I have never had to send food back or gotten ill from eating at Pioneer. I do want to address some of the complaints about the wait staff. He believes in giving all people no matter the age a chance at a job sometimes its that persons first job and like all jobs we just start out at we fail sometimes. So applause to Mark for giving people a start everyone has to start somewhere so give the kids a break!”

“We travel all over Texas 8 months out of the year from January-September. We try barbecue from TX Monthly’s Top rated barbecues. We recently ate at Black’s and they had NOTHING on HEB’s Bbq and sides. Texas monthly needs to drop in at HEB in Brenham. They will be pleasantly surprised.”

“I moved from Houston and really missed the food, so I’m so happy Las Palmas is here. I had a torta and we also ordered some tacos de carne desebrada. It was all so good. I’ve also had their fruit drinks and snacks, and they were all delicious.”

“We had a great experience! My dad ordered the chicken fried steak with scalloped potatoes and a side salad, and I had the blackened catfish with étouffée sauce. My boys went with fried catfish and chicken tenders, and we started with calamari as an appetizer. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted great.

My only small critique is that the food was slightly under-seasoned, but nothing a little sprinkle of salt couldn’t fix. The restaurant and bar were very busy, creating a great atmosphere, and our waiter was attentive, checking on us often throughout the meal.

Overall, a really enjoyable dining experience!”
