Finally decide to head over to this restaurant after being in Brenham for a bit now. Finally, a place that reminds me of my former city San Antonio...a taqueria. Those who may not know, a taqueria is not just simply a Mexican restaurant but often combined a frutería with its aqua frescas, paletas, fruit, milk shakes limonados and so forth with usually a food stand having tacos, tortas, caldos and so forth. Authentic fresh Mexican food, not the greasy Tex-mex stuff. You'll find good menudo, caldo, mole, tacos, Pollo entomatado with rice & beans. Handmade warm tortillas. Aguas frescas. On the outside it doesn't look like much, like a hole in the wall, next to a washateria. But the inside has several sitting tables & the food is legit.
