Food was very bland. I felt like the waitress was rushing us to leave. She was grabbing plates over us while we were eating and trying to grab our plates while we clearly wasn't finished. The place looked good.

My husband and I drove into Brenham for the day. Looked up top venues to eat, this was in top 5. It is located in a hotel with impeccable old world charm, the atmosphere was upscale, but inviting, and a waiting line based on the honor system. We felt we’d found a hidden gem. However, once inside..not so much! Restaurant was busy, understaffed, and not very friendly.
Food was moderate at best. I’d ordered a spinach/walnut salad with beef. I’m quite the salad connoisseur, I was very dissatisfied. Bowl was filled with spinach, few walnuts, couple 1/4 slices of tomatoes, and chewy beef fajita meet on top. That was IT!
My husband ordered chopped steak and onions..it was a formed hamburger patty with cold gravy. Green beans and mashed potatoes were okay, but not great.
Glad we visited once, but will not return.

Overall, the food was alright, but I left a little disappointed. Given the restaurant’s old-school, classy charm, I was hoping for a more elevated culinary experience. It may have just been an off day, and I do plan to return for another try.

Exactly what I was hoping for! Very small place but a beautiful sweet spot for a little birthday lunch! Not super fast or overly attentive but caring and kind service. Reasonable prices for very good food. 8 people with me and we all loved what we got! Best club sandwich I've ever had! Okra tasted fresh, not frozen. YUMMM!

I was surprised when there was no children’s menu and no booster seat. Food was great and service was good as well.

I had the Texas Cobb salad with chicken and the salad was good. The reason for only 4 stars was when they brought out the bread which was hot and good there was no real butter. Just tabs of 40% vegetable oil. I feel if you are serving hot homemade bread it should come with real butter.
As far as service it was okay but I felt rushed to leave. The waiter came with the check and never asked if we needed anything else. I was looking for desert which caused him to take back the check and allowed us to order. I ordered the peach cobbler which was very good.

The place is really cool and in a very neat area. But the food was super bland. Tastes like chicken was frozen or from a can and the service wasn’t very good at all. Not very friendly.

Wonderful place to eat and enjoy a place that’s from the early 1900’s. Great history! Antique shoppers would love the appeal! Food was hot and delicious.

I was told about this place, and it definitely lived up to the hype. It’s located inside the Ant Street Inn, with a nice atmosphere featuring white linen tables and a well-stocked bar. We were served warm, freshly baked ciabatta-style bread with our drinks, and it was dense yet soft. We tried the mushroom and Swiss burger and the fettuccine Alfredo. Both were fantastic—the burger was cooked perfectly without even asking, and the pasta was hot and well-prepared. The steak fries that came with the burgers were delicious and unlike any regular fries I’ve had before—they tasted like golden potatoes. We also had sangria, which was sweet and refreshing. The place was spotless, and our meals arrived faster than expected. A fun, affordable spot that’s definitely worth visiting again to try more menu items. Our two dishes and two drinks came to under $40, so it’s easy on the wallet too!

Cool building. Good food. The employees, including the manager seemed unhappy to be working on a Sunday. A real turnoff.
