Me and a friend flew in from Chicago and went straight to Truth from the airport with our luggage. The entire staff was friendly and the food was great. Special shootout to our bartender Jah. We had several different cocktails and they all were amazing. Freddy courteous in making sure we had everything we need and Melissa made sure I left with banana pudding after the first batch sold out.
Wow, the original location is so much better than the downtown Houston restaurant. Its worth the drive up to Brenham.
The ribs were truely some of the best i have tasted in Texas.
They were out of the Brisket and pulled pork. i will have to come back and try again.

The chopped brisket was good but we wont come back. We were there just after 1 pm and everything was sold out excepted chopped brisket in meat and half the sides were gone- maybe they should make more- but either way, brisket was good. The staff however were a combination of rude and impatient. They had no interest in dealing with customers and just wanted to close. Price was WAY too high for the lack of options and terrible service.

The brisket, pulled pork, potato salad, tater tot casserole, and mac and cheese were all phenomenal! The pork belly bites were subpar though.

I looooove this location, tried to stop here on my way back from the fall round top show, but they were sadly sold out. You snooze, you lose!

This is superior Texas BBQ. Went to their Brenham main location and sampled many of their meats. Had their Jalapaeno flavored sausages and they had great flavor without too much heat. Fall off the bone pork ribs was my favorite. The baked pinto beans were exceptional as they used the pulled pork in the sauce. The corn pudding made a great dessert!

This was my first time at Truth BBQ. Got a couple pounds of brisket (asked for the moist grade) and pinto beans to go. Very good BBQ. The brisket was slow bbq'd to perfection. Moist, great flavor, perfect smoke flavor. And the pinto beans were the best I've ever had from a restaurant. Will visit here again the next time I visit Brenham.
Updated October 2024: been back many time whenever I visit town. They still have the best brisket of any place I have been.

Good brisket, good turkey, good ribs. Sides were not great. Not sure how the brussel sprouts are “famous”. Maybe they had an off day? Nothing that I would make the trip back out here for.

Truth BBQ is the real deal! One of the best Texas BBQ restaurants I’ve ever had was here. We had two 2 meat plates and it fed my family of 4 easily. The brisket was the highlight, super juicy and tender. All the meats were moist and surprisingly was the turkey breast. Ribs were generously seasoned and fell off the bone! The jalapeño cheese sausage had a great snap to it and was perfectly flavored and not too salty. Out of the mac & cheese, tater tot casserole and potato salad, the latter was the best. We came early (11:30am) before the rush so a short wait. There was plenty of outdoor seating with shade and free beer on ice! Great friendly service! We’ll be back on every roadtrip from Houston to Austin for now on!
