Worse place ever.. bad customer service! Do not recommend at all.. We came to buy barbacoa and their debit card machine was not working and went to take money out to pay cash they had sold my barbacoa to someone else because they thought I wasn’t coming back.. ridiculous!!
The food is good, but the lady at the window always has an attitude. She always responds in such a tone. I only go here because its close to home.

I have been buying tamales there for several years and always place a big order during Christmas holidays. A few weeks ago I bought 7 dozen because I was having company. The tamales were awful, hard and very little meat.. had to settle for pizza and apologized to my guests. I called and asked for Mr. Sánchez but he was not available. I spoke with Cynthia who assured me I could return them and get new ones or my money back. I told her that I would be right over but she said she was leaving for the day and no one else could help me. I called several times and I was always told, after I identified myself, that she was not there. I finally threw all the tamales away and will not be returning to El Metate and no longer recommend them. I hope Mr. Sanchez knows the kind of employees he has!
