We were there for an hour and 20 minutes, our order had not been made, we asked about it and they brought it 3-5 minutes later, not cooked to the specifications that we asked for. It was our first time there and will be the last time. It was a horrible experience. The place was not busy, nobody around us. Never been in a place with such horrible service.
My brother and I went to eat there and we waited 1 hr to get the food. Everyone else got their food in 20 min we were the only ones that waited 1 hr. I literally had to go look for the waiter to ask him why we where being skipped. Terrible customer service .

The food was delicious beyond traditional taste buds. All four dishes were each outstanding. The desserts are stand alone worthy. With the restaurant having two sides, each creating a wonderful atmosphere. The eatery side is perfect for couples and families, while bar/eatery side invites date-nite or celebrating with friends.

we came at 530 and it was empty of people. but every table was resereved. our option was we could eat out doors. my brother has seeing eye dog and we were sitting outside with dust. 6 out of our 7 meals were not up to par for a place that charges $56 for a steak. we had to send my sons chicken fingers back 2 times because they were undercooked. my well done steak came in rare. i had to send it back. it took over an hour to get our food. they have little choices for sides with your steak. my brother the vegan said how could you screw up a salad. but the salad was not tasty. overall if you have eaten at a good steakhouse like a Ruth Chris. this is not the place. half the price and better service go to Texas Roadhouse. for better service and higher quality go to Texas de Brasil.

Worst Place I have ever been to eat a nice restaurant. Food was over priced for the quality. More fat and grease than meat. Service was the worst. Not attentive at all. We sat ourselves and waiter walked by us twice without stopping. In the photo the bottom portion is all fat. Fries were cold. Took the waiter awhile to refill my drink considering there were only three tables in the entire place. With three waiters working. Never again!!!

Atmosphere was good. Drinks and bread were unfortunately the best part of the meal. Ordered the 60 dollar 10 ounce tenderloin medium rare. Total wait time was near an hour. (Not very busy). Wait staff was slow and not present in the building (building has two sections). Tenderloin was not near 10 ounces, was burnt on the outside, and overcooked (very well done). Staff to recook, free dessert, or free drink. Fries and bread were eaten, most of tenderloin was left for garbage. Restaurant has great potential, but needs an overhaul on its food. I would choose Roadhouse or Saltgrass that are in the area. Reasonable prices with better meat. This meal was an expensive disappointment.
We only had drinks, and they were great

We visit Brownsville often to see family and had heard great things about La Pampa from several friends. On Thursday, July 24th at 5 PM, we decided to give it a try. The parking lot was completely empty, and the restaurant looked closed—but it wasn’t. We were the only guests there for quite a while, which we didn’t mind. It gave us time to relax, enjoy a couple of bottles of Prosecco, and order appetizers while waiting for my brother and his wife to join us. Our server was attentive, friendly, and did a great job checking in on us throughout.
Then the evening took a bizarre and disappointing turn.
When my brother arrived, he was stopped at the entrance by the hostess. She asked if he had a reservation—which he didn’t, and neither did we. Despite the fact that the restaurant was still nearly empty, she told him he couldn’t be seated. A larger group waiting outside told him to ignore her and go in anyway, which he eventually did.
When I approached the hostess to ask why she wouldn’t let him in, she flatly told me it was because he didn’t have a reservation. That was it. No explanation, no apology. Just an inexplicably rude attitude, especially given the complete lack of diners in the building.
At that point, we decided to close out our tab and go elsewhere. We had already spent over $200 and still left a 30% tip because our waiter truly deserved it. We explained to him why we were leaving, and he was completely understanding.
We had intended to spend the entire evening at La Pampa and were looking forward to it, but that’s not what happened. We won’t be returning, and I sincerely hope the hostess responsible for this experience is no longer the first person guests encounter when they walk through the door.

I'm here waiting for service. My table had to be getting up for refills on wine or any drink. Four plates were returned for being over cooked steaks. When they brought new plates they brought us the same fries from the first plate. What a disgrace to a steakhouse. I would never return. They never even offered an apology. Celebrating a Bday we asked for plates and forks. We never got them. Had to leave and celebrate else where. I give them zero stars.

La Pampa has been our ‘go-to’ special dinner choice. We went again last night. We won’t be going again. It’s summer, the AC needs to be set correctly. The server staff was attentive but it would have helped had they been able to speak English as well as Spanish. The tomato & cheese appetizer was great, as were the steak fries, but the ribeyes (4 of them) were thin, filled with gristle, and better served at the Longhorn Steak House, not La Pampa——and they were $40. Disappointing.

Steak was very underdone. I asked for medium, it was rather than rare. Even after they threw it back in the pan it still didn't come back medium but at that point I didn't care and just wanted to finish the meal and go. I also just realized the filet I asked for had bacon, and they charged me for it but It was missing from the meal. The waitress wasn't very attentive until they messed up my steak. It wasn't a bad experience but I have no desire to go back. It was just very mediocre for the price. If it cost half as much I would have been satisfied with what I got.

Incredibly overpriced oily poorly cooked steak. Insane how expensive it was for a steak that was almost inedible.
