My wife and I had dinner for our 45 anniversary. The menu was severely lacking. Service was exceptional. Food was substandard. We both ordered Wagu prime rib steaks. Very poor quality. We should have know especially after the waiter told us they ran out the day before.
For context. I purchased wagu prime rib steaks from HEB two day before. HEB was supper tender. Yours were not. Not never going back again.

Absolute disaster! First people seated for dinner, then everything was overcooked. A lot! Not just a degree or two. The manager tried to tell me that’s how duck & lamb chops are supposed to be. Rude and condescinding to top it off. Way over priced for less than mediocre food.

Waiter asked if we could pay the tab through either Zelle or CashApp because their system was restarting. Which, felt strange for a restaurant of this category. I ended up handing him my card and saying I would wait for the system to restart.

When I finally received my tab, he had added a 20% tip on a party of four!!

I proceeded to tell the waiter that this move from the restaurant was of very bad taste, and that I expected them to let me tip freely specially on a party of four.

In simple word, our fanciest restaurant with NYC prices and above RGV service has been compromised.

Went in by myself without a reservation on a Wednesday night and the manager was very nice and accommodating to me, he let me get a table to watch the sunset while Salvador treated me to 5 star service!! I ordered a tamarindo margarita and I told Salvador to surprise me with the second one so he brought me a cucumber margarita and they both were absolutely prefect. Y'all made my evening and have made a return customer out of me, I will be back on my next trip to Brownsville. Beautiful place with a beautiful view on the water!!

Thanks guys!

We've been to this place many times. Even after sampling the new downtown restaurants this was still the best place in Brownsville for fine dining. This time though the meal was not quite up to par. Let me say first that Mario provided excellent service. The food, however, was not quite what we're used to at this place. Not sure if they have a new chef since our last time there. The lamb's crust seemed to be slathered on and not quite right. My steak was cooked well, but had too much sauce on it. For some reason they put bits of ham in the mashed potatoes. That didn't work well. Finally, the créme brûlée was almost inedible. These may seem like minor details, but given that they've raised their prices recently, and that our tab was $260 (including wine but not tip) everything should be perfect. It wasn't.

Beautiful place. Great service. Only had the grilled octopus and a glass of wine... they have a decent wine list. Octopus was average to me, but may have just been me. I will be back.

The only thing stopping me from voting the full 5 stars is that I wish the scallop plate could’ve at least had 5-6 scallops instead of 4, that plate would not be filling had it not been for our octopus appetizer, also for the price I think they could’ve served more. The salmon plate was 10/10 with amazing flavor and was well served. The bread is delicious, atmosphere was relaxing and all staff was attentive, would go back.

Took my wife for fine dining to this restaurant and place was so cold, the food was cold by the time we received it and when we spoke with the manager, first he said that it was because the weather outside was cold and they had the heat on then, when I asked if I could get something else that would be served hot, he just refused to serve anything else saying that it wouldn’t make a difference what I ordered I’d probably still say it was cold!. We have been at this restaurant many times and have even recommended it to many others but if this is the way they treat their client concerns , I would be careful to say anything because it seems they don’t value their customers concerns at all. Our waiter was very kind but the manager… Don’t think we will be back anytime soon.

Had a wonderful relaxing dinner. Service was great, I didn’t have to look for him or ask for anything. He recommended the Lychee martini and cacao dessert, which were both delicious. The food was great, meat cooked perfectly and brought in a timely manner so your table is never crowded. A dim cozy and quiet venue. Will definitely be returning.

So my husband and I came here for our Valentine’s Day dinner. We get there and get a wobbly table. We get our drink order and I got a strawberry lemonade. It was just syrup, way too sweet. We had to ask bread, it wasn’t brought to us. When we got our entrees, I told a bite of the scallops and they were bland. And the Lima beans were still hard. I told server I didn’t like it and if I could order something else, he said I could but I’d still have to pay for my entree. My husband got the lamb chops and they were good. The service was non attentive and very slow. They didn’t come check on us until my husband was completely done eating. Got my check and left. Won’t be coming back.

Way over priced for meals. Asked if we could take our own Birthday cake which they allowed for $30 charge. Even though our tab was over $400. Never again.

We’ve dined at Madeira quite a few times and had a good experience overall, except for last night. We waited for one hour to get our appetizer and 1.5 hrs to get our food! We received a really bad service, no bread at the table, had to chase down the waiter a couple of times…Instead of ribeye they brought New York strip, with the price of ribeye. Today I woke up with mild symptoms of food poisoning that lasted all day :( with the high price of menu items, we expected a much better experience, but unfortunately it was far from it. We won’t be going back.

The restaurant is very well decorated and the food was just ok nothing special and the seating area was very narrow the customer had no privacy apart from their menu they didn't give us any information. Did not explain. According to the way they had plated the food, the price of the food was very high, maybe these people have made the environment in such a way that they give it very expensive or there is a fancy ritual, I think. This was my first experience in this restaurant. The food I ordered had too much salt and too much in the rice
