I ordered torta de la barda! Really good and good in size too!! Before 2pm the torta came with chips and a coke. For the price i think it was a deal :-) ive had an authentic torta from tampico, and compared to this one it was missing black beans, and they could remove the mayo from it as well. Overall the torta really filled me up!

Omg glad my sis introduced me to this little Ho-Jo it is very good well served Tortas I really can't complain but very good. It's hard to find good tortas but this place is good. They recommended me the (Torta Barda) various things inside but delish! You have to keep your eyes peeled looking for this place very small. Yes prices are a bit pricey but it's worth it for the amount we'll served. I will definitely go back, this was my 1st time. And was pretty impressed. Very nice gentleman who attended me. Go by give it a try.
Due to a flight cancellation, the airline put me at the quality inn hotel in Brownsville. I was really hungry after all of that. I checked the restaurants in the areas on Yelp and they all had bad ratings. I couldn't get an Uber to more distant restaurant because there were no ubers available. So I walked outside just hoping to get lucky. I saw this walk up food stand about 30 feet away from my hotel room. The sign on the food stand said: "tortas de cuete al estillo don rene" I ordered the tacos rojos and the torta cencilla. They were out of tacos so I just ordered two tortas instead. About ten minutes later I got my food which unbeknownst to me, came with soda and chips for each torta. (My Spanish is not great) The torta had delicious chopped beef, avacado, tomato, lettuce, and onion. Oh my goodness. I planned to eat only one torta and save the other. I ate them both. I cannot express how delicious these things were. Do yourself a favor and eat here! My total bill was like $12. Two drinks, two tortas, and two bags of chips. Seriously, stop reading and go eat!!!
