The service and food is always amazing here. I've never had a fast food style restaurant have such caring staff check on me so often. I was here on Friday night, I didn't catch the young man's name working but he genuinely seemed to care about our experience, and the quality of the food.

Stopped for a late lunch about 2:30pm. My catfish and shrimp were excellent, husband's shrimp po boy did not disappoint. Had a great dinning experience. The young man serving us did an amazing job, very attentive, polite and was very kind to our toddler. Great food and customer service!

2nd visit, 3 months later. Drove here from New Mexico, thinking about those oysters! Ordered 6 shrimp & 6 oyster plate. Oysters as big as my palm - oyster, not breading. Shrimp werehuge, also. Every bit as good as I remembered! I also ordered 2 extra pieces of grilled fish, for tomorrow's lunch, expecting them to be small pieces at 1.99 each. Nope. See the pics I posted! Oh, the lady who waited on me was friendly & very helpful! If you haven't tried this place yet, you should!!!
3 months ago... Ordered grilled fish & shrimp with fried oysters at the drive-thru. Best fried oysters ever! Ever! Fish & shrimp were good. Fries, pretty average. Special sauce was really bland. Couldn't tell whether it was supposed to be tartar or roumalade. But those oysters!

I had the pleasure of eating here today with my mom (in a wheelchair) and dad … right away on entering the restaurant, our sweet server Lisa jumped in to action to get the doors for us, then after ordering she helped us get my mom settled in at the table and made sure we were comfy. During our meal she was most attentive and helpful, ensuring we had everything we needed in the way of drinks, condiments, etc. The food was outstanding! Their fried green tomatoes are definitely (in my opinion) the best in Brownwood, not to mention the best price near and far!
Everything I or my family have had on the menu so far has been top notch as far as quality, great value for the price, portion size, being piping hot when it’s brought out, and all the other factors that make for a great meal.
If you haven’t already tried Sam’s Southern Eatery in Brownwood, what are you even doing? Go for your next meal if you’re able to! You won’t regret it!

Super outdated interior and the only thing that wasn't bland was the grilled shrimp.

I have been wanting to try this place so today I did.
They have a larger than expected dining room. It was clean and well maintained.
I ordered the Shrimp Po-Boy with Hush Puppies. The po-boy was excellent! I even got an extra jumbo shrimp in my basket. The hush puppies were of the jalapeño variety. They were equally as good as the sandwich.
Service was fast and accurate. The food came right out. I didn't have to wait long at all. I'm definitely coming back for more.😋😋😋😋
Food was really good. The chicken kabobs and grilled shrimp were great. The fries okra and coleslaw was very goodStaff was friendly and helpful. They seem to understand the hospitality industry.

Last week was my birthday and money is tight so imagine my surprise when my husband calls as he is leaving work for the day and asks me what I want for dinner. Anything I want and I have been wanting seafood badly. So he goes to Sam's southern eatery and gets me 2 fish 6 shrimp combo. How disappointing, the fish was slightly chewy but edible, however flavorless, the shrimp on the other hand was like chewing on one of those bouncy balls you get out of a quarter machine. Completely inedible. Hush puppies were burned but the okra was undercooked. It was the worst birthday meal I had ever had.
