This place is fantastic. The server/bartender, Sunnye, was incredibly knowledgeable and gracious. The spaghetti and meatballs (homemade spaghetti!!) were impeccable and the wine was delicious. 10/10 was not expecting to stumble upon this place while here for work in Brownwood. I gobbled it all up before I could take a picture, but it was pretty too, lol. This is a must in you are in the area.

Are you kidding me! Who’d a thought this gem would be in Brownwood? The food was excellent (they make their own pasta and noodles). Their craft cocktails are great, and the gelato . . . seriously, tasty actual gelato right freakin here. I am amazed.

The only reason it gets a 2 is the atmosphere, very cute restaurant, great potential. We show up for our anniversary meal , I had made reservations. Walk in the hostess ,who also was our waiter said you can set at the bar I tell her again we have reservations and she points to a table…. Not walks us to it like most restaurants do. She then brings a menu we order appetizers which were the best part of the meal (fried olives) I order steak which it took forever to come out but I expected that and was ok with it. But it was cold, my wife orders a lamb dish which was cold also. We go ahead and eat it because at this time we were ready to get out of there. We go ahead and decide to get dessert we order different cheese cakes, who’s the waitress brings us and they look the same we ask which one is which she switches hands and gives them to us , she had no clue a, after taking a bite they were the same and they were horrible tasting like left in a refrigerator open . We get our bill $169 … way overpriced and service was horrendous, along with cold food. But hey it was great atmosphere…..

The food was fantastic. Unique menu options and very pleased with our choices. We’ve lived in Dallas and Abilene and I can’t believe this restaurant is in Brownwood! 4 instead of 5 stars because we had our 3 yr old and it didn’t feel super family friendly. I’ll happily go back and probably won’t take the little one next time.

We came here for our anniversary and what a lovely surprise it turned out to be! Who knew this could exist in Brownwood? We had the Brussels sprouts with balsamic glaze as our appetizer and it was pretty good. My husband had the Bulgogi Steak on coconut sushi rice cakes, and I had the Thai pork meatballs on coconut rice with peanut satay sauce. It was deliciously perfect! Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We will be back!

I food and service is as good as I have had anywhere, in the world. Mary the owner was so nice to speak to and so knowledgeable about her food. She has done a lot of training overseas. They just won first place in an international wine competition. Did not expect to find that in Brownwood TX. Fist rate food and service.

First take when you walk in is building has a cool vibe. We actually entered the bar area - and there was a side room with what appeared to be quite the wine selection. So, let’s have a look! Excellent choice of wines - Italy, France, California and then some. Bit in high end but worth it - the ones we had (Bordeaux and Cabernet) were quite good. They do have a special drink of day may be worth trying though not for us today. On to an appetizer. We had the Brussel sprouts which were fantastic. Crisp outer part with inside just right. Not bitter and a tangy lightly sweet sauce drizzled on. For the main dish, the Lamo Sataldo - a Spanish Asian fusion dish was full of flavor. The rice with some kinda olive from who knows where was great! Finally on to desert. The bread pudding by itself was ok but the brandy and apricot butter bring it home for a delicious desert. As for service, Our server was very attentive and enjoyable to talk to.

After hearing about the Turtle Restaurant we decided to travel to Brownwood and try it. We were delighted. The dishes were prepared and presented very well. The quality of the ingredients was good. Good service and a good wine list. Highly recommend this place. The surroundings are reminiscent of " The Red Peacock" in Prague, CZ.

First timer. Ordered a burger and 18 dollars worth of chocolates to go back in October. Enjoyed the burger but forgot the chocolates at the restaurant. Called from out of town and they credited my card without any greef. I need to go back to try the chocolates and see what else is on the menu.

Oh my goodness! The Duck is out of this world! Halfway through my dinner I had to order another to take back to the hotel. The craft cocktails are so artistically made. They really go above and beyond. Absolutely must go if you are ever in Brownwood. Wish you had a spot in north Texas

Not sure how I didn't review this place. I've been here a few times and each time there's something new on the menu I try. I will say that the wait time is pretty long when you place your order, but supposedly the dishes are made from scratch. I've only been here for dinner, so I can't speak to their lunch menu. The servers are great and the gelato is good. I'm not sure if I care enough for the drinks. The drinks compared to what I was expecting and the price isn't worth it in my opinion. But treat yourself to it if you go for the first time. The food is pricey, so keep that in mind if you decide to stop by. Also, their gelato is great. So many different flavors to choose from.

Lunch at The Turtle Restaurant was a surprisingly pleasant experience. The food was incredible, well-prepared, and filling. No food was left on any plates.
