Nice little spot with lots of seating. I took the street side seating as it was rather cool. I had the Tuna Poke bowl and it was amazing. It really had a different twist in great way, served with baby bokchoy, coconut rice, damage and what seems to be sort of a coffee tahini sauce if thats wrong correct me in the reply I didnt really ask my tongue dicented lol. But all togther it tasted really, refreshing š. Definitely give them a try.

Excellent food and friendly staff, also has the best little Italian creamery on location. Outstanding place! Will go back next time in Brownwood.

I am in Texas to visit family and while passing through Brownwood happened upon this beautiful restaurant! If I lived in Texas I would go out of my way to come back; again and again! Everything was perfection.

There were 4 of us. We had Brussel sprouts that were overcooked and dry and we had to ask more more balsamic glaze. It did not help it.
The service was great. The food to us was not worth the $240 we paid for 4 people (included 2 glasses of wine). In all, it was over-priced and mediocre. They did say the chef was off so another chef was cooking but it still seems way overpriced.

YUMM! If you are looking for lunch, or dinner in Brownwood this is your place!!
I know they also do brunch and can only imagine how incredible it is based off our experience tonight.
We started with the Brussels sprouts (not pictured) (& I like to think I am a Brussels sprouts connoisseur) and these literally made my top 2 list. Sooo crispy, but not charred. The sprinkled Parmesan and balsamic glaze was the perfect touch to balance the extreme saltiness (in a good way, these were heavily seasoned).. even if you donāt like Brussels sprouts, these will change your mind. A 100% must try menu item.
šØWARNINGšØ If you have sensory issues avoid the curried fig and poblano chicken dish. This is a sensory overload in the absolute best way possible. The abundance of different flavors and textures going on in just one single plate⦠astounding. Decadent creamy curry meets sweet *HOME GROWN in the back of this place* fig, thinly sliced poblano spicy peppers, and a largeeee portion of chopped chicken breast, paired with coconut rice garnished w/ home grown basil - this screams home made from scratch, and āready for secondsā as the kids would say.. I wanted to literally lick my plate clean.. and was so tempted to.. but there was too many people around, so I regretfully refrained.
My boyfriend got the coconut basil gelato & he polished it off before he could even come up for air. Such a unique flavor - was so good and so lite. You dont feel guilty eating a double scoop!
Trevor was our server and knew the menu inside and out. He was very polite and attentive and had great conversation with us throughout the course of our meal. Never made us feel rushed even as we were still there approaching closing time.
We will be back next time weāre in Brownwood!

Terrific food, our waiter was not very good...ex. he served desert before recovering our dinner plates, he didn't let us know that they charge for drink refills and he'd just dissappear for several minutes at a time leaving us to wonder if he was even still at work! Highly recommend eating there, but have about two hours set aside for service.

This was our first time at the turtle restaurant. The food was fantastic, the service not so much. We waited forever for the waiter to come take our order. Meanwhile we watched a different waiter wait on several different tables efficiently.
I personally had to ask our waiter several times to fill my water glass. The drinking glasses are way too small! More ice than water in them. My sister ordered a Diet Coke, and had to ask for a refill, when we receive the bill, she was charged per glass. The waiter never mentioned that she would be charged per refill. We ordered dessert, and the waiter brought us our dessert and set it on the table with dirty plates from our meal. We made sure to tip the minimal tip. Iām assuming the waiter was disappointed, because he never even told us goodbye or told us to have a good evening.
Although the food was good, the service left us with a bad taste in our mouth, not sure if we will return.

What a gem! We found this lovely restaurant by accident while driving through on a Motherās Day roadtrip. We got lucky that this was one of the two Sundays a year they are open (Easter and Motherās Day brunch).
It was a lovely brunch spread with fabulous Scottish Eggs, chicken pot pie, beef yakitori⦠too many other great things to mention. Oh but I canāt leave out the desserts! I had a perfect angel food strawberry tort and my mom said her scones were perfect.
We were so happy to find this adorable spot for a rest stop with EV charging in the back. This will be on our annual roadtrip route for sure!
This has to be my new favorite place to eat. Everyone was so friendly. And the food was absolutely amazing. It was my Wife and I's Anniversary. We even got a free gelato. I highly recommend this place for a quiet place for a great meal

The Turtle is a very restaurant. I had the Turtle burger and the tomato and basil soup. It was delicious. We came with our dogs and sat in the patio. It was very nice. Service was great.
Love getting gelato from here!
Amazing waiter, chef, food, and ambiance. 10/10, will be back!
Food. 5 stars. Atmosphere. 5 stars. Service. 10 stars. I mentioned to the waitress that it was my husband and Iās anniversary, and before we left she came to our table with this lovely card. Just for us. I think The Turtle will be our anniversary spot for many years to come.
Food is well prepared, fresh, reasonably priced. Great atmosphere and service.
