Just the very best tamales, plus the people are so friendly and sweet and the price is great! Someone recently brought us tamales from a place everyone loves in the Valley, and my husband and I looked at each other, shrugged, and said, "Not quite as good as Maria's!"

We were craving some homestyle tamales, this pass weekend (August 25, 2019 Sunday). So, I foolgoogle it on the internet, within a 75 mile radius of Conroe, TX and Maria's Tamale Factory popped up as one of the top five. I gave them a ring and Mrs.Maria's husband answered the phone and I asked what were their hours and days of business. He replied, they opened were open, on Sunday. We drove to Bryan/College Station and bought, ate and took a couple dozens for our road trip back Conroe, TX. It's definitely a place for great and delicious handmade tamales.

You have to try these tamales!

I ordered tamales from Maria's several years ago and they were even open on Christmas morning for me to pick up. I thought the tamales were amazing. Last Christmas, I did the same thing, however, the masa was grainy and thin. I guess maybe it depends on who's cooking or how many they are cranking out. We'll see how next year goes!

Went once and very satisfied. Excellent price, and very tasty. Got the spicy pork, which were hot, but not too hot...just right. 😄 Quality ingredients as far as I can tell. Will go back soon.

Tamales were so yummy. Super nice owners. Maria took the time to explain the process.

Tasted good but made stomach hurt and then had me running to the restroom.

As a tamale connoisseur I love their tamales, I especially like the spicy versions. AND the green salsa is to die for, seriously spicy that brings tears to the eyes. Rest assured, even though this is in a neighborhood setting they have a commercial kitchen inside the home. This is a factory/bulk order by dozen not a single serve and not a sit down site though.
