Amazing brisket. I've had tons of brisket. I cook my own. I have friends that compete. I'm in Florida and would go to Buna for this brisket. I haven't tried anything else (the brisket was shipped to me as a gift) but based solely on the brisket, I would eat anything these folks made.
Yes, however, it may not be everyone's cup of sauce.
The only points I have to mention are :
*it's possibly pricey for those on a budget
*may be a bit cold in the large building (personal preference, however this serves a multipurpose function that some may not understand)
*servers are human, not perfect, with imperfections showing you're dealing with real people just like ourselves

Black Gold Barbeque is an amazing and wonderful BBQ restaurant in Buna, Texas, considered the best in Southeast Texas. The signature BBQ is phenomenal. The moist brisket is filled with flavor and really good, and the turkey is excellent, moist, and tasty. Notable items include the brisket grilled cheese, described as one of the best bites ever, and the brisket fries with crispy fries. The Texas Twinkie is a recommended add-on.
Sides are on spot and a great touch. These include smoky Pinto Beans, tasty Potato Salad, creamy and delicious Mac n Cheese, and dirty rice. The yeast rolls and Corn Bread are also excellent. The BBQ sauce is sweet with just enough vinegar pepper. The sheet cake is a favorite, reminiscent of a homemade chocolate cake, and the banana pudding is amazing. Teas are perfectly sweet.
The beautiful establishment has a chill atmosphere with nice, friendly, always smiling staff who show amazing attentiveness. A minor complaint is that the line can back up at the register, which can affect food temperature. The menu is constantly updating. It is a must-stop and a place you will not be disappointed with.
