Went in this morning craving some biscuits and and gravy. Place was not packed so we were seated immediately. My wife ordered the turkey club which she enjoyed, I ordered the biscuits and gravy with a side of spicy sausage. Sausage was grate but the biscuits and gravy were at less than room temp. The server was great, she noticed that I was not eating and I let her know the problem. Good eat server but the kitchen failed in sending out cold food. We have been to this location in Burleson several times and they always seem to screw something up.

All around, great restaurant! They have a cozy atmosphere and a friendly crew that welcomes you and makes you feel at home. I love their pot roast! ? They also have a bunch of very cute merch available... everything from house slippers, purses, coffee cups, etc. (All black bear themed, of course).

One of our new favorite spots for breakfast. They do not skimp on the portion sizes here. It definitely gives diner vibes but it feels homey! Food is pretty good. They struggle with making medium rare steaks, so be aware. The iced coffee is unlimited!!! Overall, it's a great place anytime of the day! Definitely give them a try!

Very disappointed since all we have heard were good things about this place. My boyfriend and I went in Saturday around 5pm, and it was very empty (maybe 5 other tables had people) and we just thought it was the lull before the evening rush. We were seated and 10 minutes later a lady who was not out waitress came to take our drink orders stating our waitress was busy putting in orders or something along those line, which is completely understandable. Finally our waitress comes and takes our order, and we see more people coming in (at this time there is probably about 15-20 tables full). After about 40 minutes of waiting, we see food sitting up on the counter waiting to be carried out, and no waitresses in sight. We saw hostesses and others, but not one person was bringing out food. Finally, after about 10 minutes, who we are assuming to be the manager came and was yelling for people to bring food out. We recieve our food, and unfortunately my Chicken Fried Steak is pink all the way through, my baked potato is cold (the cheese won't even melt), and my boyfriends eggs are cold as well. During all of this, we can see the manager is having issues with the kitchen because she is asking why/what the items are on the counter waiting to go out. When our waitress finally comes back, she asks how everything is. I told her not so great, and show her my Chicken Fried Steak. She asked if I wanted a new one, and I told her at that point I did not as it had taken 40 minutes to recieve it. I asked for a box so I could take it home and heat it up in the microwave and for her to please tell the kitchen/manager that there was an issue. She told us that the kitchen staff is all new and they are still learning. I was not expecting a comped meal by any standards, but at least for a manager to come and talk to us. In addition to this, we witnessed several other tables being frustrated as they had been there longer than us, and had yet to recieve their food. Had a table that came in 20 minutes after us that recieved their food at the same time as us. Overall, we will not be back.

I used to love this place but just had the worst experience. Waited over an hour and half for out meal only for it to be completely wrong and to be told the reason it was wrong was because they were out of all the stuff we ordered. They waitress I guess just took it upon herself to just give us whatever instead of informing and asking us what we would like instead. Complete waist of time and terrible service. Might give them another chance another day but it probably won’t be for a while.

We are visitig family here in Burleson We live in Myrtle Beach SC. We were very, very disappointed in our experience at this restaurant. We waited a long time for someone to come to our table. We ordered drinks. and it took a really long time to get these. The waitress took our order . I ordered the pot roast , with mashed potatoes. I asked for no white gravy on it, I requested beef gravy. It came with white gravy. on the mashed potatoes I told waitress, I didnt want white grsvy, and had requested beef gravy. She said she would bring more gravy She never brought it. We hardly saw her to ask for the things we wanted. Two people in our party asked for the soup. After waiting while 3 of our party got our salads. and were halfway through, they were told there was no soup so they ordered salads They waited a long time for their salads My SIL ordered sweet potstoe fries with her meal. They didnt come with her meal, She reminded waitress who promised ]they would be right out. My BIL went to cashier to ask for a manager She told him there was no manager. He reported that his wife wss still waiting on Sweet Potato fries They were brought out when she was almost finished her meal. We also had to ask our waitress fir the corn muffins that were supposed to come with our meals. These also took a long to be dropped off While we were waiting for the rest of our food, we saw a couple who were waiting, had gotten their drinks, walked out after waiting a long time. Another couple also walked out. A family of five with 2 small kids were seated, ordered. and were told several things they ordered were were not available After gettting their drinks, they got up and left as well. When my BIL complained to the cashier , he was told that there were all new kitchen help , The food was mediocre. service was horrible, and, unacceptable. We live in Myrtle Beach. which as you know is a tourist town , if a restaurant had service this bad, it would never make it , We were very disappointed with the Black Bear restuarant.I do not see this resturant making it with this unacceptable service and food

First, I want to preface this by saying I hate leaving negative reviews and would not if I knew how to get ahold of the owner of the business, but I strongly feel like the service we experienced tonight needs to be known. This was our first time coming here and was looking forward to trying as we have heard the food was good. When we got in it took awhile for our server to come to us, after we got our drinks and our order we never saw her again. The restaurant wasn’t very busy at all. There were several tables that weren’t cleaned at all and had dirty dishes on them. We sat there for over an hour and still didn’t receive our food. There was no sense of urgency from anyone on the floor working. There was plenty of people working but no one was willing to step up and help. The only person the resembled the manager was seen one time. The table next to us did not get all of their food with their order. There was a couple that got seated and never waited on and they got up and left. I have never walked out of a restaurant but after not receiving any service or our food for over an hour my husband and I decided we would get up and pay for our teas and leave. Like I said I hate to be the person to leave a bad review but service like that is what will cause businesses to go down hill and it’s clear that no one in that building seemed to care much. I hope they get it turned around.
Save yourself the trouble and believe all the bad reviews, they are very accurate. Tried again for the third and last time. Consistently lousy service, long waits and food just not worth it.

This was our second trip to the Burleson Black Bear Diner. We decided to try their breakfasts. I had the Griz and Lisa had the build your own. Everything was delicious. Nothing came out cold. The pancakes were great. Service was exceptional. Tiffany was our server and made sure we had everything we needed and made sure and checked on us periodically. We definitely want to try more of their breakfast items in the future. Good food and good service. You can't ask for anything better.
